❝The pleasure of love lasts but a moment, the pain of love lasts a lifetime.❞

Other than the Entity's claws, your wits and fast thinking landed you where you were. You loved technology and the possibilities it carries with it, but you never thought you'd have to use it to survive. So, you sat at the campfire with David, Meg, and Feng and discussed everyone's strengths and weaknesses. You and Feng were designated to take the mechanics side of things, whereas Meg and David would tank whoever would be hunting you.

Sadly, your group's conversation was cut short, for you were cast to Coldwind Farm. But Feng was at your side when Coldwind's heat flourished against your skin. You sighed as both of you found the nearest gen with ease. You stripped wires and tightened bolts, and as the generator started to produce more heat, that caused you to sweat. Luckily having two people working together made progression faster, but a male scream made you pause. "That can't be good."

Your words were soft as you spoke, but Feng finished the machine that ignited with spotlights in your concern. "David should be fine; he's breaking a pallet anyways."

Confusion riddled your face as Feng picked herself up and dusted off. She made her way toward you, and you both walked together to find the next generator. "What?"

"Leatherface, I think? He's breaking a pallet; I can sense it." Feng shrugged as she explained. You didn't quite understand, but you'd instead be left in the dark than ponder any longer on the thought. And as you were walking through rotted and semi-dilapidated structures, you heard a scream, but it wasn't like David's shrills. Instead, it sounded like a pig. Your heartbeat quickened, and you turned to Feng. Her eyes were wide as she darted towards her right. You had a split second to decide to follow or go off on your own in the opposite direction. You choose the latter. And you must've made the correct decision because the revving faded away.

Your temporary freedom needed to come at a price, so you made sure to get the rest of the generators up and running. However, you failed to see the infamous Leatherface or any of the other survivors on your quest. But you wiped the sweat that gathered at your brows and finished the very last generator.

The farm seemed a bit too quiet, maybe the sound of all the gens distracted you to those that were possibly in need, but you'd instead not think about the unpleasantries. Instead, you'd do what you hoped was a favor to the group, opening the exit gate. But, as you grew closer to the metal doors, your heartbeat picked up momentum. You peered around a dusty green barrel, looking over to see what was causing the rhythmic tempo in your throat.

Leatherface stood in front of the door. He paced back and forth and revved his chainsaw every few seconds. You let out the breath you were holding and tried to think of a way to open the doors to get out of this fiery hell hole. But after having your internal monologue, you decided the best way to get through to the exit gate was by confusing the man who stood there.

"Hey, Leatherface? Is it? Can you please move aside so I can open the doors and leave unharmed?" As you spoke, you inched closer to the lever, continuing the small talk as you went. With each question, the killer replied with a grunt. Each noise varied with degrees of excitement. But, for the most part, you guessed that he was actually into the somewhat civilized conversation. Luckily for you, your distraction worked, and the exit gate doors slid open with an old ache. You sighed with relief as you turned away from Leatherface and made your way toward the freedom in front of you.

However, you were stopped when a stunted rev sounded behind you. Confusion filled your face as you swiveled towards the noise. You wondered why the chainsaw had made that noise. So, you went back towards Leatherface, he tried to rev it again, but it made the same stunted rev as before. He huffed in frustration as the machine failed, again and again. Thus he pushed it towards you, demanding in grumbled words to fix it.

You grabbed the chainsaw and laid it on the ground, then you looked around the vicinity and went over to an open chest. The box just so happened to have a toolbox inside, so you picked it up and brought it back over to where Leatherface stood. You examined the saw, and an object was wedged between the blades and a few internal gears. So, you commenced surgery, taking your time to extract whatever was wedged inside carefully.

Finally, the object came loose. You gagged as a bloodied human bane laid in your hand. You knew it had to be from one of your friends, and the thought made you sick. Your hand was about to drop the remnant with how bad you were shaking, but Leatherface grabbed it out of your hand before it could fall. You gasped as he stuck it into his mouth and licked all the tissue and blood from the bone. Your stomach lurched as bile surged into your mouth. You swallowed it back down, causing your eyes to water. You blinked back tears and took a deep breath before standing up and grabbing the chainsaw as you rose.

You passed the machine back towards the killer. He grabbed it excitingly and revved it to make sure it worked, and sure enough, it did. You gave him a soft smile and tried not to make your fear and disgust evident to the man. So, you reached out to pat his back, but he stumbled away from your touch with a frightened yell. You took a step back and nodded at the reaction before making a break for freedom of the trail. But before you went through the invisible portal, you turned to look back at Leatherface. He stood waving you goodbye as you went.
