❝Just because I let you go, doesn't mean I wanted to.❞

This is about to get realllll angsty, and I'm not sorry. Here are some tissues.

"Frank? Buddy? Come on; it's time to go." Joey's voice alerted me from the stance I was in. Tearstains were evident on my face, and the tissues stacking up next to me were beginning to become disgusting. The room had been bright for over thirty minutes, but I just wanted to stay for a little while longer. Memories floated through my mind as I stared ahead of me.

Fire. It crackled against the dark of the night. The smoke blocked the stars, and ashes flew high above us. Y/N's face was bright from the flames nearby. Her smile was widening at the sight of the smores being made. We sat on a tattered blanket together. Marshmallow stained the edges of our mouths as we stared at the constellations above. She looked over at me, her E/C orbs radiating passion as she looked me in the eyes. I grinned as we both leaned forward. The lips were sticky as were mine, the texture was undesirable, but my love for her was not.

A tear slide down the paths that were premade. Joey sat down beside me and put a hand on my back. His touch against my shoulder was gentle as if I could break at any moment. A patter of footsteps was heard behind us. Julie and Susie appeared from my side; sad expressions were the first thing I noticed on them. It wasn't a good look for all of us.

Flowers. They were everywhere. Purple, pink, blue, white, red. They covered the plain like a disease. Y/N was in the middle of it all. Her hair bounced as she walked through the field. The sun jumped off of her body, making her skin glow with unimaginable beauty. She had a handful of the flowers in her hand, she picked them out carefully, trying to find the best ones. After a few minutes of walking, she found a big oak tree and sat down at the base of it. She weaved the flowers together, making five flower crowns. Purple for Julie, pink for Susie, blue for Joey, white for her, and red for me. She was so proud of her creations that she wanted to get back to the others immediately so she could hand-deliver them. I stood up quickly, reaching my hand out for her to take. The sun showered our crowns as we went.

"I'm sorry, Frank." Susie's voice was soft. I knew they wanted to comfort me, but it was merely impossible. The black looked so good on all four of us, too bad the reason was so painful. Julie sat down in the row behind me while Susie took her place beside Joey. Their presence both calmed and enraged me.

Ice. The drink was cold against my skin. It was our first fight, and her weapon was a glass of ice-cold water. I deserved it for it to be thrown in my face. Her face was becoming redder as time went by. Her voice broke the longer she went. But all I did was sit there. I just stood there and took it all. My shirt was see-through in spots, and I didn't even care. She had been yelling for a while, and my body had shut down from the attack. I hated seeing her angry, especially at me.

She had finally had enough of m unresponsive ass that she marched over to my hanging jacket to take my car keys. I didn't even go after her when she slammed the door to go outside. The snow had been falling for a few hours now. The flurry was hard to see through her windshield. She didn't see the semi coming straight at her.

"Frank, you need to let her go." Joey was right; she wouldn't want me moping around. But the tears still streamed, and the tissues continued to pile up. Her body lay in the casket, peaceful as ever. The memories stirred my mind and made it worse. How was I suppose to let her go, when the reason she's gone now is my fault?
