I changed my writing schedule (again) for anyone who cares or is just curious; you can check my bio. Thank you to everyone who voted, it means a lot to me that so many people care. Hope this is what you wanted, have a good day! I know this chapter is early. But I really wanted you guys to have a place where you are reminded (without Wattpad bullshit) on all my stuff. If you don't want to join or can't it's understandable, but it you do it will make me very happy!
The fire crackled and roared against the wood of the three-story cottage. The insides became more and more charred as time went on. The flames whipped high above the base catching onto the branches above. The Legion mural had turned to an ashen black as everything was burnt to a crisp. The snow had stopped ages ago, the spring and summer months had plagued the area making the outside barren without anything on top.
The group of four had been out gathering supplies when it had happened. So, they didn't know they would be coming back to their home destroyed. When they saw their beloved hideout in pieces and flames, a part of each of their hearts was removed and thrown into the mess in front.
Susie was the first one to break down. Tears escaped her eyes like a river, it wasn't going to stop anytime soon. She started to hiccup as the cries became worse. She fell to the ground whispering to herself as she went, "Our home... It's gone... Where do we go now?"
Julie saw her best friend on the floor crying her eyes out and immediately went over to comfort her. Her hand rubbed soothing circles into Susie's back trying her best to calm her down in case she has another attack. The two females stayed close to the ground using each other as rocks for the grief that was overflowing their systems.
Joey stood still, he couldn't believe his eyes as he watched the remaining structures fall to the ground staining the grass a blacken ash color. He looked over at Frank who was looking at a piece of graph paper, that had somehow survived the fire by flying away in the wind. He walked over to the leader of their small group and glanced at the paper in his hands. "Funny isn't, something so small can mean so much to us."
Frank nodded and sighed as he looked at the rubble. The fumes in the air stung at his eyes as he studied the wreckage. He decided to investigate, even if he got hurt in the process it wouldn't matter since the Entity owned a part of him. His steps were large considering the pieces of wood he had to go over and limbs became warm as he went past still hot objects. He scoured the hideout, trying his best to find anything useable. But, came back to the group empty-handed.
"Well, did you find something." Julie's voice rang against the cold winds that were whipping at her clothes. Her eyes mirrored hope as she stared at Franks clenched fists.
Frank sighed as his hand opened to reveal ashes that swayed to the grass. "No. Nothing was recoverable. Even my porno magazines were destroyed, I've been collecting those for years can you believe-"
"Now is not the time to talk about your... Collection... We need to find somewhere to stay for the night, I heard from the store we were raiding earlier that it was supposed to rain." Joey held the portion of his nose between the eyebrows as he shook his head. He made his way over to the wreckage and mumbled about Franks stupidity. His hand brushed away some rubble and picked up four masks that seemed to be untouched.
