❝In the black water ocean, the drops of red blood starving my soul to swim in it. To taste the darkness with love.❞

THIS CHAPTER WAS REQUESTED

Your whole body was covered in a sticky green vomit. The substance made you sick, causing you to cough up your bile and blood. In addition, your body forces your stomach to pump itself out in a rhythmic matter, and the pain that ensued was worse as you ran. It was as if your organs were squeezing out everything your body made with each step. However, the water that could cure you was nowhere near your exit, and you could hear the footsteps of the High Priestess mere meters from you. So, instead of going out of your way to finding the magical liquid, you left the trial.

You were transported to Léry's when you left through the exit gate, but sadly the sickness never disappeared. It still festered beneath your skin and dripped down your clothes. Finally, you collided onto the floor with your body seizing in pain.

"What happened to you?" Your vision was starting to blur when Herman's concerned voice found you. You tried to speak, but the only thing that erupted from your mouth was dry heaving and blood drops. He picked you up and carried you to the nearest hospital bed. Herman made sure to lay you down gently, but no matter how easy he was with you, it didn't stop the suffocating feeling that enraptured your stomach and lungs.

Herman's words and actions were blurring together as you slowly lost your senses. You didn't know what was happening around you, there was a slur of words and caws from crows, but it all sounded like gibberish. In your blurb of failing consciousness, you could feel a rough handhold your face and an arm that pulled you up so you could sit up. A cool liquid then fell against your dried lips. You could feel it drip onto your stained clothes. However, you swallowed most of it, but you also struggled to breathe when it went down your throat.

With how much you had to strain to be able to drink, you ended up passing out. Then, after hours of much-needed rest, you awoke to a mass of warmth that lay next to you. You blinked away a fuzzy haze and looked over to find Herman with his arms around your waist. He was snuggled into your side, which you smiled at. You sighed, but you chuckled when you did because you noticed how your throat and stomach had felt way better than before. And as you looked down at your clothes, you saw the lack of sticky green stains on your back.

"I had to get the crows to fetch some water from the Pools of Devotion. I was afraid to travel there myself with the state I had found you in...." Herman's voice was muffled from your side, and when he talked, he sent vibrations through your clothes and into your skin which caused you to giggle from the contact.

"Thank you for taking care of me." Herman nodded against you as you wondered how long you were out for. You figured it had been a while because Herman had fallen asleep at your side, but you were very grateful for him staying with you. Without him, you might not have made it through the pain.

Unfortunately, your time was cut short with Herman. Nevertheless, you were able to get a final appreciative squeeze in before you were transported to a new trial. You hoped Herman would be your opponent, for you weren't sure you could stand anyone else.
