Jack's P.O.V

"So Ailani has to have sex with the Alpha in order for him to realise she's his mate? Is that what you're saying?"

The girl sighed and shook her head in annoyance. "For the fifth time, yes, this is what we are saying."

"What would happen if she was a werewolf?" I asked.

"Then the Alpha will immediately know she is his mate. He only has to smell her scent to find out." The man spoke again, looking me dead serious in the eye, waiting for the point where I finally understood what they were telling me.

"So what do I say to Ailani? You have to have sex with this man in order to be safe? What kind of bullshit is that!?" I exclaimed, my face screwed up in disgust.

"You're not going to tell Ailani anything." The girl said quickly.

"So I'm supposed to keep this to myself?"

"Yes."

I sighed and leant back in my chair.
"You know she can already smell his scent; right?" I said after a slight pause.

"Yes, we already know." The man said casually.

"So you're saying that she can smell him but he can't smell her? What nonsense are you talking?"

"She is human. She can smell Adrian's scent from afar, but he can't do the same if she is not a werewolf." Catalina said.

"But isn't a werewolf's scent supposed to be stronger than a humans?"

When I asked this question, Catalina sighed and murmured: "it's complicated."

"Any luck?" I asked Katie. At the moment she was fiddling with the lock using her hair pin, and I was sitting on the floor chilling hopelessly.

"Nope." She said, sighing and falling on the floor beside me. "I guess we're stuck in here together forever."

"No thanks," I said, getting up from the floor. I took the hair pin from Katie and started fiddling with the lock myself. "We need to get out of here, at least for Jack's sake."

Jack's P.O.V

"If you're saying we're all in danger now, what makes you think we'll be in any less danger if we stay here?" I asked confused. Shouldn't we just up and leave this place and go back home?

"Like I said before, the people can't smell your blood, so no one will know if you're human or not. It's the way that you carry yourselves that will get you noticed." Catalina had left the room to talk to someone, so it was just me and... the man.

"Like what?"

"Like, if someone around you is talking about werewolves, and then one of you ask what they're going on about... you'll be caught out."

"So you're saying we have to act like we're werewolves?" I asked even more confused.

"Yes." He deadpanned me.

"And how the fuck are we meant to do that? What are you gonna give us some glowing eye contacts and fangs to wear around the hotel!"
