Katie's P.O.V

"Wait, what do you mean we're leaving?"

"You should've been there, Adrian went psycho as soon as he realised that Ailani was human. He wan-."

"Wait. Wait. Hold on a second. Since when did he find out that you were human?" I looked to Ailani, who had her back to me, folding clothes into her suitcase. Every now and then she would place two fingers on the side of her neck, wincing at some kind of pain. I walked up behind her. "Ailani what's wr-?"

She turned around, her eyes sore with tears. I gasped at the redness on her neck, nearly missing the subtle fang marks. Shame was written all over her face; and her body sagged down in defeat. My best friend was broken. And I hadn't even been there to comfort her.

"Ailani, what happened." I said, my throat tightening.

"It's okay," she replied. "Can you just come back with us. I wanna leave here as soon as possible. I feel like my heart is going to break."

"Of course," I said, walking over to the other side of the bed and grabbing my suitcase.

Jack was standing in the corner of the room, arms folded staring down at the floor in anger. His bag was already packed by the door ready to go.

"I can't fucking believe that man," he said absentmindedly.

"Was it that bad?" I asked, placing a pair of shoes in my suitcase.

"If you were there Katie," Jack shook his head in disbelief. "He had her in a fucking death grip. He was going to choke her to death, right in front of me."

I stood there in shock, eyes glancing at Ailani who had her head down, avoiding my stare. She continued to pack, every now and then gulping down what I could only imagine to be sorrow. Before I could answer, the door handle moved as if someone was trying to get in.

"Ailani, Katie, you in there?"

It was Amanda. I looked to Jack and Ailani who shook their head 'no.' They didn't want her in. So instead I opened the door and walked out, shutting it behind me.

"Hey," she started. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah, Ailani is just in the room getting changed. She said she wants to get freshened up before the Mating Call." I tried to make it sound as if nothing had happened; that everything was as it was before.

But the confused look on Amanda's face didn't make that easy.

"So Alpha was lying to us then? You are still apart of the pack?" She questioned, eyes searching mine for a sign of deception.

"What do you mean? Why would he say such a thing?" I pretended to look shocked. I'm not a great actress.

"Adrian said that you guys had been kicked out, that you were traitors or something, and you didn't deserve to be on our territory. He said that you were liars, and that we shouldn't go anywhere near you unless we wanted to be exiled too." The way Amanda said everything, made me believe that she thought what he was saying was nonsense. Relief settled on my shoulders like a cape.

"So why are you here? Aren't you afraid of getting in trouble?"

Amanda shook her head quickly and scoffed. "I didn't believe a word he said. You're my friends, I'm not about to let you all leave so soon."

The door behind me opened and Jack and Ailani stepped out, suitcases trailing behind them. They stopped in their tracks when they saw Amanda, but it was too late.

"Oh. So he wasn't lying after all?"

"Amanda it's really not what it looks li-."

All of a sudden she started sniffing the air slightly, nose crunching up as if something didn't smell so good. She looked at us all with something like shock and disbelief. My heart dropped. I think she smelt blood.

"Has someone hurt themselves or something?" She asked, looking at each of us.

I answered quickly. "I fell over coming up the stairs to the room, scraped the back of my leg a bit. Nothing too bad."

She looked at me with disgust. "You're blood smells human," she began slowly.

The panic on my face must have said it all. Amanda sighed as if the breath in her had been knocked out. "You're kidding me right?" she said. Her eyes began to water, I thought it was only us that were meant to cry.

"Amanda - we never meant-."

"Never meant to what? Lie? Betray us? Act as if we're not enemies?"

"We aren't your enemy Amanda," Jack said.

"Save me the bullshit! I should fucking kill you. What were you here to do? Give us away to the hunters?"

"Hunters?" I asked. Who the hell were the hunters?

Amanda laughed ironically. "Yeah, like you don't know." She began to walk away from us, retreating back down the corridor.

"Amanda, wait!" I cried, walking towards her-

"Don't you ever come near us again. Get the hell out of here. Cause when the Mating Call starts, we'll be coming for you first!"

Adrian's P.O.V

"You're fucking ridiculous bro, you know that don't you!"

"They better be out here by the time I'm done with this paperwork."

"Are you even listening to yourself! You know she's your mate. You felt it!"

"I didn't feel anything. Nothing but anger, hatred and disgust."

"Fucking ridiculous..."

I was sick and tired of listening to my brother complain about my actions. I was on the verge of shifting, on the verge of murdering my own flesh and blood. That thing wasn't my mate. She was a traitor; I couldn't believe I had fallen for her lies. How dare they call themselves rogues? Even a rogue is placed of higher respect than a human. The thought of them three still on my territory made my blood boil, they should be killed.

Yeah, they should all be killed! What kind of Alpha was I if i allowed them to leave. If I let them go, it would all come back to bite me. They would tell everyone of our hidden territory. Thousands of my wolves would be slaughtered in cold blood. We'd lose generations of our kind...

"Where do you think you're going?" Solomon asked me as I opened the door to my office.

"None of your fucking business!" I retorted before slamming the door in his face.

As I walked my hands shook with the intent of murder. I could feel my fangs lengthening as I got closer to their room. And with all my might I pushed back the unwanted feeling that was slowly beginning to creep back into my conscience.
