Chapter 6 part 2

I made the trek to my second class a few minutes before the bell sounded. My mind didn't drift far from the blue eyed dream boat who said all the right things. He was no where to be found the rest of the day.

I didn't catch a glimpse of Blair until later that day, she was freaking out to Shya and Megan about her low grade on the test. I know she had done poorly because of the fact she soon would be taken away from her father.

At the end of this year, our parents would give us up to the state, however, when a child is disowned, or taken away from a parent, the child or parent is sent to the edge of the city, either to an orphan home, or to work in a factory. They are taunted and made fun of by everyone else.

"Are you going to watch the soccer  tournament," Blair asked me, linking her arm with mine. I nodded, knowing who would be playing in it. Conrad's face appeared in my mind once again as I left the school that evening, the sun hung high in the sky as we all made our way to the bleachers.

All the boys were already lined up, the teams were split up, black against red. Blair slid a bag of popcorn into my lap, taking the seat next to me. Greg plopped down next to me on my other side, sipping a chocolate drink.

"Blair, how are you," Greg spoke, it was no joke he liked her, but he would never be with her, she was third class, and he didn't have much of a say in who he could merry anyways.

"Hi there Greg," She chirped, beaming at him, I had a feeling she harbored feelings for him too. Megan and Delia came a few minutes later, Megan chattering with a boy I had never really talked to.

I roved my eyes over the players to find a pair of blue eyes that I had been thinking about all day. I spotted him standing next to his best friends, Zack and Mason. My jaw fell open when I caught a pair of Gray eyes standing with the others on the opposing team. He stood towering over the others, his devilish good looks on full display. I tore my eyes away from him, slumping down into my seat.

He managed to pop up everywhere.

Who was he?
I jerked up at the sound of the whistle, my eyes were glued to the players as they sprung off down the feild, kicking the ball in every direction. Conrad remained in front, the ball swooshing in between his feet. He kicked it off, the ball sailing into the goal.

One point for team red.

I couldn't help but notice the tension between Conrad and Nathen as they went at each other, the gain turning into a battle between the two. Nathen effortlessly scored goal after goal, Conrad on his tail time after time. I couldn't help but cheer for him, even though I knew Conrad could see me.

"So what's up with you and That gray eyed boy?" Blair shot at me, during the ending of the game, Black was winning by 4 points, red had the ball. Everyone screamed and cheered as red scored another point. I glanced at Blair who didn't seam into the game.

"Nothing, I, I don't even know him." I stared simply, hoping it sounded real. I couldn't believe I had lied once again. She nodded, looking back at the game, however I did catch the glance she stole at Greg.

"Your turn," Blair stated that evening, laying down another card. I leaned back in my seat, if she was good at anything, it was cards.

I was about to lay one down when someone's voice came from behind me. "The spades is better," tilting my head, I nearly fell out of my chair when Conrad's father stood next to me, his son by his side.

"Um, hello Mr Robberts, Conrad," I greeted, trying to put the pieces of my brain back together. Mason came and joined us, shooting me a half hearted smile. "And hi Mason."

"I've sure heard a lot about you," Mason chimed in, leaning against my chair, and resting his chin right on the top of my head. What the heck is going on? How am I supposed to concentrate in the game, when this model of a guy was right up in my space.

He always carried the laid back country boy vibe, and was a wild flirt

He always carried the laid back country boy vibe, and was a wild flirt. He kissed every girl who let him, and didn't seam like he wanted to settle down anytime soon.

He was about 6 foot, with thick blonde hair smooth sun kissed skin, and a perfect set of teeth. Despite his player ways, he appeared as the sweet boy next door type.

"Go find someone else to bother Mas, Drew has already been claimed." My eyes widened at Conrad's statement, and Blair looked like a dear in headlights. She jumped her eyes from person to person.

I locked eyes with a pair of gray ones across the room, the look on his face was one of disgust  that I was with Conrad. I wondered why he hated him so much. He sat with a group of guys, playing poker, and sipping sodas.

"I don't understand, I thought," Conrad seamed to have noticed that I had been looking at Nathen, because he leaned down next to me, getting even closer then mason had, as I took in his cologne.

"Meet me at the front of the council building, at, 12:15 AM." He linked eyes with Nathen, and a smirk slipped onto his lips, as he did something I never thought he would do in public. Conrad's lips brushed against my cheek, heat rushing to my face, as I sat there, every muscle in my body unable to think anymore.

Conrad wanted me to meet him in front of the council building at 12:15 AM, however, that was past curfew.

Nathens words sounded in my head, he can do more then you think.

What did he mean by that?

Conrad was a good person, he cared about me, he had shown everyone he cared by that kiss. I would follow him to the end of the earth if it meant not getting disowned by my parents.
