"What do you mean you aren't coming with me?!"

Luna didn't know how her voice had managed to not come out in a yell of terror, but it did.

She was near positive her facial expression and Force presence were different matters.

"There is information I have to report to the Council, and Palpatine wants to meet with you in private," Anakin explained. They were standing in their shared room in the Jedi Temple. Luna stared up at him in surprise and terror, doing her best to hide the later.

Thank the Force she was so good at hiding her real feelings.

"But Anakin—"

"Luna, I have work to do, and I can't do anything about it. I don't see what your problem is! Don't you want to meet him?"

Not in this galaxy, my universe, millenia, lifetime, or anytime or place else! "Not particularly! I only like a few politicians," Luna responded. "I'll embarrass myself, and I don't like meeting new people!"

"Really? What about Bespin?"

"Bespin was different, I already knew everyone....ish. You know what I mean!"

"And you know the Chancellor in the same way."

"No, not really. Luke, Leia, and Han are heroes the entire storyline is centered around! Palpatine is the Chancellor!"

"You still know him better that a good section of the Republic I sure."

I know him better than most of the Force freakin' galaxy! "Can't you try to figure something out, please?"

Am I really begging right now?

The other path is straight into the Sith's den without protection.

Yes. Yes, I am.

"No, I can't. What are you so worried about anyway?" Anakin asked. "What's the worse thing that could happen?"

He kills me on sight or breaks down my mental barriers and sees what will happen in the future. "The planet implodes, and we all die. Or Sidious finds me."

Anakin stared at her in shock.

"How likely is the planet imploding?" he finally asked. Luna felt like slamming her head into a wall.

"You asked for the worst possible thing. It's not going to happen, don't worry about it, but Sidious finding out about me is extremely possible."

"Which is why I will be walking you to Palpatine's office and picking you up. Sidious won't have a chance to corner you alone."

"You don't know that!"

"Luna, nothing's going to happen to you, alright? I promise," Anakin told her, trying to reassure her.

"Don't make a promise you can't keep," Luna replied. "You're going to be here while I'm there, how can you be sure Sidious won't do something?"

"Sidious doesn't know anything about you. Besides, I haven't seen any sign of him. You have nothing to worry about."

Agree to disagree, Anakin. Agree to disagree.
