Chicago. In front of the Firehouse 51.

I took a deep breath and walked into the group room. 

Everyone was here but no one really seemed to notice me. 

I smiled.

Mouch, Otis and Hermann were sitting on the couch watching TV. Shay and Gabby were talking to Kelly and Casey. Some new guy was standing there in the kitchen and cooking while he was talking to Cruz.

Suddenly i heard Shay scream "oh my god! "

Then she ran to me and hugged me "You're back!"

I smiled and hugged her "Hey"

She let go of me and i realized that everyone was watching us.

I said softly "hey guys"

No one said anything and it was getting weird.

Suddenly everyone but the new guy, Casey and Severide jumped up and hugged me.

Mouch "Welcome back, Florence "

I smiled "Thanks guys"

They looked at me.

Otis "you gonna stay for good now?"

I took a deep breath and rubbed my hands together "Well, it honestly depends if the Chief still wants me here or not"

Suddenly everyone looked at something behind me.

I sighed and turned around "hey, Chief"

He just nodded.

I was scared of this guy but I also love in like a dad so..

Chief "Florence, my office, now"

Then he walked away.

I sighed and Shay put an arm around my shoulders "come on"

I shot her a look "the hell do you think you're going? i'm going alone"

She shot me a look.

Then i walked into the office.

Boden was sitting behind his desk "please, close the door"

I tensed and closed the door "Listen, Wally, i know i've been gone for a while but-"

Boden stood up which cut me off.

He walked over to me "Are you going to stay or is this only a visit?"

I answered carefully "i would love to stay if it's okay"

Boden nodded.

Me "Wally, listen-"

Boden walked to me "Welcome back to the family, Florence"

I smiled with tears in my eyes "Thanks, Chief"

He nodded.

Me "Am i gonna come back to Squad 3 or do you want me other Truck?"

Boden thought about it "Well, it's your Lieutenant's call to make"

I froze"But you're the chief -"

Boden sighed  "Listen, Florence when you left a lot changed- they changed"

i looked down, shaking my head "i don't know what you are talking about"

Boden shot me a look "you know what i am talking about"

I nodded.

Boden "do you want to talk to him or..?"

I shook my head "i'll do it, don't worry"
