"Why Would She Lie?"

A few days later. At the Firehouse. 

I was tying my shoes when James walked to me. 

James "hey, Flo"

I looked up to him, smiling "hey, what's wrong?"

James "you're dating Severide, right?"

I nodded "as far as i know, yes. Why?"

James "could you talk to him, maybe?"

I asked worried "why, what's wrong?"

James shrugged "i don't know. He's kinda trying to find a reason so that can fire me. I don't think he wants me here"

I stood up, confused "wait wait wait wait. Severide? You think Severide is trying to manipulate your job here? are you kidding me?"

James "Florence, could you please talk to him?"

I nodded "oh yeah, i will talk to him. Trust me"

James nodded "thanks"

I nodded.

In the jacketroom. 

I walked in and saw Kelly looking through our uniforms "Lieutenant"

Kelly smiled when he saw me "hey, what do you need?"

Me "what's your deal with James?"

Kelly "Boden's James?"

I nodded "Yes."

Kelly shrugged " i don't have anything against him, why?"

Me "because that is not what he told me"

He looked at me confused. 

Me "did you corner him to find a reason to kick him out?"

Kelly shook his head "no. did he tell you that?"

I nodded "Yes."

Kelly sighed. 

Me "but you did talk to him"

Kelly nodded "yeah, i was checking if he was okay"

I asked confused "why?"

Kelly sighed "you should ask James"

Me "but i'm asking you"

Kelly raised an eyebrow. 

I shot him a look. 

he sighed "Cruz told me he saw some bruises on James' body. "

Me "He's a boy, Kelly, they have bruises all the time."

Kelly "Cruz said they looked like someone had been working him over"

I froze "you talk to Boden"

Kelly "Cruz told me so i'd talk to James first"

I asked confused "why didn't you come to me ?"

Kelly took a deep breath, sighing "Florence, we've nearly crossed the 1 year mark in this relationship. And i just didn't want to worry you "

I walked over to him and put my arms around his neck "i love you, Kelly"

Kelly smiled and kissed me.

Suddenly the alarm went off "Squad 3, vehicle accident. 511 S. Desplaines"

Me "That's us"

At 511 S. Desplaines. 

We walked over to the vehicle accident. 

A car got caught underneath a truck.
