At the FIrehouse. Next day. 

The alarm went off "Ambulance 61, Truck 81, Squad 3, Boat accident, 22nd and canal. "

Squad three was getting ready. 

I pulled up the pants of the suit when i saw Kelly walking to us. 

Newhouse "hey, look who finally came down from the mountain"

Mills "oh, i've never seen him before"

Capp chuckled "are you sure you remember how t do your job, Lieutenant?"

Kelly pulled his pants up "Forgetting is better than never knowing, Cap"

We all laughed. 

They got in the truck except Kelly. 

Kelly walked over to me "hey"

I looked at him "Yeah"

Kelly "ready to step back as Lieutenant?"

Me "Ready to take the lead again?"

He chuckled and gestured to the truck "get in"

Then we both got in the car. 

22nd and Canal. 

We rushed over there. 

a woman was screaming for help. Her man was stuck underneath the steal off the trailer and the car was hanging off the cliff. 

the Chief walked over to the woman "stand back, ma'am. Give us some room"

The woman cried out "It's all my fault. I left the truck in drive!"

Casey "you have to give us room so we can lift this trailer. "

the woman cried out "you don't understand ! My daughter is in there. My daughter!"

I looked over the edge to the cat. A girl was in there, yelling for help. 

Girl "mom! help  me!"

I looked over to Kelly who sighed .

Chief "What's your daughter's name?"

woman "Elena"

Chief looked to the car "Elena, some fire fighters are on their way. say as still as you can"

Elena called out "okay"

Kelly "Mills, wrap a sling around this frame. Cap, get the winch cable ready. Let's go"

The two of them did what they were told. 

Kelly "all right, Tony, take the winch cable back slowly till we get some tension on the line"

Tony did what he was told. 

Kelly nodded  "okay, we're good, case"

Casey "all right , Cruz, go"

Cruz turned the saw on and cut the steel through so that the car was only hanging off the truck "i am through"

Truck 81 lifted the steel off the guy.

Chief "careful with the head"

Brett and Dawson rolled over to us with a stretcher. 

We heard some sirens coming closer. 

the guys lifted the man on the stretcher. 

Dawson "that's gonna be an ambulance"

Kelly secured himself on the line and called to Elena "Elena, we're coming down to get you"
