1.2 Apology

Back at the Firehouse. Group room.

I was sitting with Shay in the group room.

Shay "so how was Florida?"

I nodded "it was good. Amazing pla-"

Severide walked inside "Florence, a word"

I sighed ,stood up and followed him to his room.

He closed the door behind me.

Severide "What the hell was that back there?! "

I shrugged, confused "i was doing my job?"

Severide "you disobeyed my orders, Flo!"

I shook my head  "you had no righ-"

Severide "i have every right to order you around as your Lieutenant, Flo, and you were disobeying my orders"

Me "it's my job as a part of-"

Severide "you just can't come back and expect me to treat you like you never left"

I froze "so this is what this is about?"

Severide shook his head "this is about nothing."

Me "Kelly-"

Severide "The next time you think you have to disobey my orders -"

Me "what are you gonna do? huh?"

Severide "Then i'd have to talk to the Chief. "

I froze "you can't be serious"

He nodded "i am "

I froze "but-"

Severide "I'm serious, Flo"

Then he opened the door for me to leave "and now go"

I sighed "Kells-"

Severide growled "Florence, I am dead serious !"

Then i walked out.

Night. at home.

I walked to the door and opened it.

Kelly was standing there and i froze.

Me "Kelly? what are you doing here?"

He held up a six-pack "an apology"

I eyed him but then let him in.

I sat down at the kitchen bar. Severide looked around and then sat down across from me. He put the sixpack on the counter.

It went silent.

Me "so you and Shay still living together?"

He nodded "yeah. I see this place hasn't change since-"

I nodded "yeah"

He nodded.

I grabbed a beer and opened it "this is ridiculous, Kelly. "

Kelly asked confused "what?"

Me " you know down well what i mean. can we just pretend that nothing happened?"

Kelly"Well, something did happen"

I looked away scoffing.

Kelly "Flo"

I shook my head  "i didn't tell him"

Kelly "neither did i""

Me "i mean, there is nothing to tell him? right? he cheated on me with Hallie and we fought...and i-i-i was hurt. I mean, technically he and i weren't dating anymore when.."

Kelly "we had sex?"

I froze but nodded "Yeah"

Kelly nodded"yeah."

Me "i haven't told Shay either"

Kelly "I think she knows something"

My jaw dropped "huh?"

Kelly "Well, she shot me a look when you walked in"

I sighed and took a sip from my beer "damn it"

Kelly nodded and took a sip of his beer.

I eyed him "you shouldn't mix pills with alcohol, you know?"

He froze and looked at me "what?"

Me "i'm not stupid, Kells. You haven't still checked your arm"

He sighed.

Me "you promised me!"

Kelly "i know! but i'm fine"

I scoffed "oh really?"

He nodded.

Me "i saw you today"

Kelly rolled his eyes  "i' m fine, Flo"

Me "can you promise me that?"

He looked at his beer.

I nodded "That's what i thought"

Then i stood up "you should go"

His eyes widened "you can't be serious?"

I nodded and walked to the door "I'm dead serious, you shouldn't even be here"

Kelly walked to me and gabbed my arm "Flory, come on, wait"

He turned me to him.

I sighed "Kelly, what are you doing here?"

Kelly "Fl-"

Me "I'm serious, Severide, what the hell are you doing here? you shouldn't even be here. I'm Matt's ex and Shay's best friend"

Kelly ""I'm sorry about today. I shouldn''t have talked to you the way i did. You didn't deserve that"

I sighed "Kelly-"

Kelly shook his head "no, i'm serious. You're one of the best people i've got on my team. You know what you're doing. I guess, i was jus-"

Me "shocked i was back?"

He nodded.

I nodded " i know"

Kelly "why did you leave? what made you leave for Florida?"

I shook my head "doesn't matter"

Then i walked to the door but he grabbed me again and i was suddenly trapped between him and the door.

I bit my lip "Severide, please, go"

Kelly "i don't wanna go"

I pleaded "Kelly, please"

Kelly "Flory, please"

I bit my lip.

He put a hand on my cheek. His thumb went to my lower lip.

Then he leaned down to kiss me and i let it happen.

I kissed back and put my arms around his neck.

He pressed me closer to him.

He went to my neck and whispered "jump"

I jumped and put my legs around his waist.

Then i took his jacket off and kissed him again.

He took my shirt off and stopped for a second.

I was breathing heavily "what?"

He looked at me for a second "nothing"

The he kissed me again.
