At a restaurant.  A few weeks later. Morning. 

I walked outside and sat down at a table. 

Kelly smiled "hey"

I smiled and took my sunglasses off "hey"

Kelly "how you doing?"

I nodded "i'm doing great."

Kelly eyed me  "Doesn't sound like it"

I shot him a look "how's the hunt for a new apartment? You need to be out of your old one by the 15th?"

He nodded "yeah. we found something actually, It's got a perfect baby room, right next to the master. "

I nodded "good. Can i ask you something?"

He nodded "sure"

Me "You said the baby's coming on Thanksgiving, yeah?"

he nodded "Yeah"

Me "Well, it's just that Renee left February 9th. When was the last time you guys had sex?"

Kelly raised his eyebrows, caught off guard "February 9th"

I nodded "Exactly. So the due date should be the first week in November, at the latest. "

Kelly eyed me "If this is because of Shay, Flo, -"

I shook my head "it's not-"

Kelly "is that why you came without her? i know it's hard for her since she wanted a baby with me but now i get one without her. "

I shook my head "no it-"

Kelly "but it's not Renee's fault or mine and for you to imply that it's not mine- that's low, even for you, Flo"

Then he stood up and left. 

I clenched my jaw. 

At a case. 

the trucks pulled over. A house was on fire. 

All of us got out of the truck. 

I heard over the fire "Hey, we have a 2 1/2 story fully involved. If you wanna get a line in that basement, let's get a primary search started immediately. Someone's inside. 

Casey "We'll vent the roof and start in the basement"

Severide "we've got the main floor"

Kelly and i walked to the stairs. 

Chief "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. "

We turned to the Chief. 

Chief "Do you smell..?"

Suddenly the house exploded. 

Kelly and i fell backwards to the ground. 

I stood up.
