"I Need A Day Off"

At the Academy. In a classroom. 

Kelly held up the tests and started to hand them out  "okay, guys, if you can't pass this test, you won't pass the firefighter exam given at the end of Academy training, which means that oyu will not become a firefighter. Simple as that. You have one hour, starting now"

They all got to work.

Severide tried to kick out Rebecca but turned out he can't do that. She's the daughter of Deputy District Chief Lionel Jones, which sucks. I don't l like her. 

i was avoiding Kelly at all costs. 

At the Firehouse. 

I walked into the Chief's office "hey, do you have a second?"

He nodded "sure"

then i closed the door and sat down on the chair. 

Chief "what do you want to talk about ?"

Me "Can i get today off?"

Chief "why?"

I shrugged "i just need a day off"

Chief "is it about what happened on the last job? the gun?"

I shook my head "not exactly,"

Chief "then what is this about?"

I grimaced "it's complicated, Chief"

Chief "Well, you're talking to your uncle so..it shouldn't be complicated"

I sighed " I just need a day off, okay? please, don't ask questions"

Chief nodded "okay, if that's what you want. But you also have to ask your Lieutenant for permission"

I froze. that's exactly what i wanted to avoid. 

Me "why? i mean, Mills is now in Squad 3, Severide sure wouldn't notice me being gone"

Chief shot me a look "Florence"

I sighed "okay, Chief"

Chief "are you sure you're okay?"

I nodded "yes"

Chief "You can always come to me if something's bothering you, you know that, right? i may be your Chief but i'm also your uncle"

I smiled a little "thank you, Wally"

He smiled. 

Then i stood up and walked out of the office. 

I sighed and walked into the garage. 

Kelly was there working on the truck. 

I sighed and walked over to Capp "hey, Capp"

He looked at me "yeah, what's up?"

Me "Could you tell Kelly that i took today off?"

Capp sighed "You're not gonna tell him"

Me "Well, we're not exactly on speaking terms"

Capp sighed "sure, and what do you want me to tell him?"

Me "Just that i needed a day off. If he asks why, tell him i threw up earlier"

He nodded "sure"

I nodded "thank you"

he nodded and i walked out. 

Next day. At the Academy.
