A few days later. At the Firehouse. 

The trucks were all out because the boys were doing some cleaning and checkups no them. 

I walked to Shay who was all smiley today "you're late, Smiley"

She smiled "sorry for that"

Me "did you get your blood drawn this morning?"

She nodded "Yeah"

Me "where are you on your cycle?"

Shay "I'm a day late"

I smiled. 

Shay "i didn't wanna take a home test 'cause they're not 100% so Kelly and i went to the doctor and they're gonna call us later on with the results"

I smiled "oh my god. "

Then i hugged her. 

Gabby walked to us "can i join this hug?"

I smiled and opened my arms "come here!"

She hugged us. 

Me "I heard about you and Mills. Sorry to hear about the break up. He's an idiot"

Shay nodded "that i told her too"

Gabby nodded "With the exact same words which is kinda scary"

Shay and i giggled. 

The alarm went off "Engine 51, Ambulance 61, Battalion 25. Structure Fire. 3015 South California Avenue. "

At the prison. 

We pulled over and got out. 

You got to be kidding me. A damn prison. 

Casey walked over to the Chief .

Chief "Casey, get together a team. We gotta go inside"

Matt nodded. 

Chief "Severide, i want Squad standing by for rit rescue"

The prison manager (?) "rit rescue?"

Chief "Rapid intervention team"

Casey "okay, Cruz, Hermann, Mills, leave your irons..."

They started to walk to their truck.

Mills, Casey and Hermann were inside. 

Suddenly i heard the Chief over the radio "Christopher Hermann, can you read me?"

Hermann "What's up, Chief?"

Chief "Cindy just went into Labor. Your folks are bringing her to Lakeshore right now"

I smiled. 

Chief "I'm sending someone in to come get you right now"

The Chief nodded at me and i nodded back. 

Hermann "nah, that'll take too long. We're almost there. I can smell the smoke"

The Chief shook his head at me and i sighed.

Shay walked to us with a neckboard in her arms "i gotta get back inside"

Chief "we got a power outage, Shay. Standby"

Shay "Dawson and Mills are alone in there, Chief. I gotta get back inside"

The guy shook his head "you can't. The perimeter doors failsafe to a lock position"
