I was walking down the beach, waiting for my date to show up.

You probably already know me, if you heard about that fire incident at my old school.

So, as I was saying, I walked down the beach. I saw a couple of girls setting up some beach things. One girl had blonde hair and one had brown hair.

I walked over to them, and gave them am award winning smile.

"Hi, I'm Matt." I said. "But you can call me... any time."

"Cheesy pick up line." the girl with brown hair said.

"Yeah, no thanks." the blonde said.

I grunted and walked away, trying to think of a way to get one of them.

My date was coming at 6, and it was only 5. I'm not sure why I came so early, but it'll give me just enough time.

I sat down and waited. I saw more people coming to the girls.

Must be a birthday party or something, I thought.

After it looked like no one else was coming, I walked back over there.

"You aren't even invited dude. Leave." the blonde said.

"GOSH DARN IT!" someone screamed. "I dropped my pizza."

I turn to look in the direction of the voice while a couple of people chuckled.

I turn back and see the blonde holding hands with a boy with black hair and the girl with the brown hair holding hands with a boy with blond hair.

"What do you two see in those guys?" I ask.

"Didn't I just tell you to leave?" the blonde asked.

"Nobody tells Matt Sloan what to do." I say.

The boy with black hair was taking a sip of a blue liquid, but he spit it out laughing.

"Matt Sloan?" he asks.

"Yeah. Got a problem with that?" I ask, trying to sound intimidating, but I was kind of scared.

"Nope. I just practically defeated those things in the gym when I was 14 when you ran out crying like a baby." he responded.

"Percy Jackson?" I asked.

"In the flesh." he says.

Then, the blonde girl bursts out laughing.

"Okay, what's so funny?" I ask.

"I'm the girl who slapped you in the face." the blonde said.

And with that I went off. Who needs them, anyways?
