Mortals Meet Demigods

I had just finished my job with the unicorns at Camp Jupiter. I walked home, ready to see my cat, Billy.

Before I say anymore about myself, I'd like to say I'm mostly mortal. I'm a legacy of Venus. I live alone with my cat, Billy. I'm 21. And you may be asking: Am I a boy or a girl? Well, I'm a girl. Don't judge my name.

Anyways, I was walking home. I saw a young boy on a bench. I sit next to him.

"Hi! What's your name?" I ask.

"Leo, Leo Valdez." he replies.

"And why are you sitting alone?" I ask.

"Well, not very many people like me here. I may have blow up some of New Rome, accidentally." the boy said.

"Well, that was in the past. Try not to let the past hurt you." I say.

I stand up and extend my hand.

"I can be your friend. I have a lot of food in my apartment." I say.

The boy grabs my hand and I lead him to my apartment. I unlock the door and hold the door open for him.

"You can go in first." I say.

He walks in and I walk in behind him.

"By the way, my name is Ricky. Rick Jelly." I say.

The boy tried not to crack a smile.

"It's okay. Laugh." I say, walking into the kitchen to get some food. I hear the boy slightly chuckle.

I grab some hot chocolate and animal crackers. Don't ask why I have them.

I bring them out and set them on the table.

I sit down, and Leo sits down.

"So... What brought you to New Rome?" I ask.

"I'm not really sure. I just sort of felt like it." Leo responded, taking a sip of the hot chocolate. "Wow, this is good."

"It's a family recipe." I respond.

Leo smiles.

"So... How old are you?" I ask.

I'm not trying to be his girlfriend d or anything, I just want to know his name. Put your blowtorches and pitchforks away, fangirls.

"I'm 17." He responds.

"I remember when I was seventeen. I still hadn't had my growth spurt." I say.

"I haven't had mine either." Leo says.

"Well, it'll happen soon. Don't worry." I say.

We both finish our hot chocolate and the animal crackers. We talk for a little while, then agree to meet up the next day at the park.

*One Year Later*

It's been a year since I became friends with Leo. Since then, so many things have happened. My cat Billy had kittens. Yes, Billy was a girl. The kittens are named Caleo and Jenna. I also attended Leo and his girlfriend Calypso's wedding. Let's just say, I may have cried at the adorableness.

But right now, I'm helping a unicorn that's going into labor.

I know, it's weird. But there will soon be a baby unicorn in my life.

Calypso was helping me with the unicorn.

After hours of working, the baby unicorn was curled up in a blanket.

I sat down and stared at the beauty of the baby unicorn.

"What should we name it?" Calypso asked.

I stared at it.

"Shiny Hooves." I say.

"Perfect." Leo says, walking into where we were.

Then the three of us walked out, ready to tell everyone the good news.

I was helped with this chapter by a friend on my bus. I might do another one.

But right now, I'm helping a unicorn that's going into labor.
