Part 10: Little Miss Sunshine

I woke up to obnoxiously loud snoring in my ear along with a puddle of drool on my pillow.

Clayton.

Turning over I came face to face with the culprit.

He was currently laid down on his stomach with his head facing me while he used his biceps as a pillow.

I'm gonna let him sleep he had a ruff night.

Gently moving off the bed I make my way downstairs to talk to mom.

Walking into the living room I instantly find her on the couch drinking her coffee.

"Hey buttercup what are you doing up this early?"

As I sit down I give her the 'look' that basically means we gotta talk.

"Oh sweet lord what happened, you haven't given me that look in a while."

See what I mean.

"Mama I told Clay the real reason why Emily took her life,he deserved to know and there is more to the story then we thought."

Mom then puts down her coffee and turns the tv down a few notches.

"Well you are right he did deserve to know, how did he handle it?"

"He started crying it was like he finally understood everything and he didn't have guilt crawling all over him, then when we got back here I gave him her diary.Turns out we didn't know what really happened."

Mom then walks into the kitchen and starts getting out pancake mix along with bacon and eggs.

"What are you doing?" I ask clearly very confused why she would start cooking while I was trying to talk to her.

"I'm making his favorite breakfast, I know he isn't doing that well right now, and if I know my boy blueberry pancakes, bacon and eggs will cheer him up, so while I'm cooking you continue talking."

"After Clayton came back inside he broke down completely and told me what really happened. Emily and Clayton lost their virginity together the night before she went to that party, Soon she figured out she was pregnant which automatically made her think it was the other boys. A couple more doctors appointments later she figured out the gender and it was a girl, she believed the baby was Clayton's because she talked about how much she looked like him. Mom she was so excited about having the baby but then she woke up in the middle of the night and had blood everywhere. Emily had to give a still birth to her dead baby by herself, that's the real reason she killed herself not because the baby wasn't Clays."

Looking up at mom she had tears pouring down her face as she tried to cover he mouth from the sobbing that was coming out.

I went over to mom and held her because if I didn't I am positive that she would have fell down to the floor.

Dad then walked through the kitchen door in a rushing manner looking around frantically.

His eyes finally landed on mom and he instantly came over to her and comforted her.

"Lizzie what happened?" He asks with concern in his eyes.

After briefly explaining everything dad had tears running down his face to.

"I can't believe that poor girl had to go through all of that alone that is absolutely terrible, I don't care that the baby was Clayton's or that other jackass, Emily is the one who had to go through all of that alone. And now Clayton since he figured out that the baby was his I know that he is heartbroken hell I would be to." Dad said as he rocked mom back and fourth in his arms.
