Pen Name: Neha

Username: @TunesOfHeart

Is your pen name your legal name? If no, then how did you make up one?

No. It's not my legal name. My pen name is a representation of what my work consists of and its listening to the voice of your heart because often characters are caught in the world of chaos where the conflict of emotions between the heart and mind is unavoidable. They struggle to make a choice, and it's when how they turn around to follow their inner voice which is called as 'Tunes of Heart.'

How many books have you published till date?

30 ( Including the one shots) But most of the novels are down now.

What are your future projects?

As of now I'm devoted to getting my main novel published which is under the copy-editing process, so can't really say which project would be next, because there are plenty of ideas that I have written online but they're waiting publishing. There are plenty in the to be written list as well.

What is writing to you?

I call it my first love...(Laughs) have never loved anything with this passion as I love creating larger than life characters finding their happiness in a world where spending every second could be a challenge. Having said that, we all know fantasy contradicts reality but the reality has its own beauty too because it's what makes you into who you're today. Thus, combining the two worlds together is like creating an elixir for the masses and also for myself.

Is being an author, your long time dream or a hidden passion you found out later?

Honestly, I was always drawn towards books. As a kid, I spent more time hiding in the library reading the fairy tales than participating in sports or any other activity but at that time, I never thought I could write as well. But in the year 2015, when I wrote my first fanfiction, I discovered I had a voice to convey the deepest feelings but still I didn't called it my dream or passion. It was after continuous practice, I confirmed to myself that this is what I love to do and it's my dream. It's ready to become a lifelong profession now.

What genre books you like to work on?

New Adult Fiction, Contemporary Romance, Women's Fiction, Inspirational, Mystery/Thriller, and recently I even found my voice in the horror genre.

If we challenge you to write a book of another genre we suggest, then would you take it up?

I am afraid I'll have to deny at the moment because my hands are full. But maybe in the future, I'll give you a green signal on this.

Writing is a reality that paints a beautiful fantasy. What do you think are the charms of writing fiction/non fiction books?

Whether it's fiction or nonfiction, writing is building a canvas of emotions that exists deeper within humans in any sort of world they live in. The thing that makes us all same is that we can feel, and the thing that differentiates us from others is how we react to a certain situation but at the end of the day, from fiction to non-fictitious world, everyone finds a way to some place where they're at ease or where they can be who they're.

What is the most embarrassing situation that you have ever been through?

I remember going to this cafe along with my younger brother; we booked our table but there was some miscommunication so when we went there, we didn't got a place. While we were waiting my Bhai was taking my class for being an idiot so the receptionist there came and said, "Sir, please don't scold your little sister in the public place." Because he's tall, she assumed him to be my elder brother...and since then he's forever calling himself my big bro.

One craziest thing you've ever done?

I took my Dad's cellphone to school without telling him and the whole day he though, he lost his phone somewhere...

There are many authors who just started their journey and many readers who want to write but has no courage to do so. Please give them a tip and a word of encouragement.

Hesitation kills more dreams than rejection does. Always remember even the published writers were amateurs at one time. They're published because they didn't let their fear win. If you have a story, jot it down. You don't have to share it with the world, but maybe, start from your family and friends. Take their feedback and improvise. Read as much as you could. Not just in your genre but any book you can get your hands on. No one knows any grammar or punctuation in the first attempt but only when they start they know what to do and how to do. Research along the lines you're writing; don't limit your imagination to one thing only. Expand yourself of the box you're in and your words would flow like a river you would have never known. I wish you all the best. May you rise and shine.

Last but not the least, have you ever dreamt of writing your own comic?

Yes, a few days back I was watching these few animes which were mangas first and I had this weird thought to draw my own but the irony is I suck at art...(Face Palming)
