Pen Name: Z.T.Soyoye

Username: Zechariah19

Is your pen name your legal name? If no, then how did you make up one?

Z.T.Soyoye is just a combination of my initials and my last name. Pretty basic but it sounded professional.

How many books have you published till date?

1 i.e. The Unwanted

What are your future projects?

I am currently working on publishing The Unwanted on Amazon and other websites as well as continuing The Unwanted series.

What is writing to you?

Writing for me was a way connect with others. I wanted to leave my reader with a sense of enrichment. To make each person learn something from reading my book that they can apply to their everyday life to help them through a difficult point in their lives. I want them to relate to the emotions and decisions of the character but also learn from then so hopefully, their lives would be enriched as well

Is being an author, your long time dream or a hidden passion you found out later?

More of a hidden passion I found later in life. I felt compelled to tell an interesting story that would be able to connect, inspire and benefit the readers.

What genre books you like to work on?

Science Fiction, Mystery and Action-Adventure

If we challenge you to write a book of another genre we suggest, then would you take it up?

In all honesty, I can not say I would take up that challenge. My reasoning for this is because I only write when I am inspired to do so. Forcing myself to write in a genre that I don't enjoy/connect with, would lead to a soulless book that won't reach the quality I strive for.

Writing is a reality that paints a beautiful fantasy. What do you think are the charms of writing fiction/non fictional books?

Writing fiction allows you to adopt the ideology and personality of your characters. I somedays find myself asking what would my character do in each situation. But it's also a two-way street, the character affects me as much as it is affected by me. What I mean is, I would sometimes input my own ideology into the character giving me a clearer sense of my moral ideals. This allows me to see the hypocrisy in some of my ideals and improve on them. Writing science fiction allows me to create a reality that has flaws in it, much like ours but also allows me to create a beautiful fantasy as your quote said.

As for Non-Fiction, I have a lot of respect for the writers that can turn their real-life experiences into a beautiful story that engages readers. It is a very difficult skill to have. A skill to turn events that might seem mundane at the time, to a thrilling gripping story that readers love.

Who are your favorite authors in and out of wattpad?

Rick Riordan was a huge inspiration of mine as well as many Manga authors. They tell such interesting stories using myths and can portray in incredible detail the emotions behind each of their characters.

Name few of your close wattpad friends.

There have been loads of amazing people on Wattpad who gave me advice that I would feel bad if I missed even one of them. I hope they know how much they've taught and helped me. So in fear of missing one of them out, I will instead like to shoutout AmaterasuBlaze, I_am_Ironman3000,  Himynameisimawesome for some amazing fanart of my book and some interesting ideas they've given me.

What is your favorite series you have recently watched or read?

So my favourite series that I recently watched was DareDevil and Doom Patrol. They are amazing character studies that really made viewers feel connected to each of them. Daredevil had amazing cinematography, as well as interesting psychological warfare and shows what happens when your ideals are tested to the limit. Highly recommend. As for an Anime series, I would say Haikyuu, Promised Neverland, Bungou Stray Dogs, My Hero Academia, Steins Gate and Code Geass. They're not all my favourite but all have amazing stories that I took something meaningful away from.

Who is your favorite actor/actress?

Don't really have one but I think Charlie Cox from DareDevil did an amazing job

Who is your favorite Villain you couldn't help but love?

Punisher and Wilson Fisk from Daredevil are amazing as well as Lelouch from Code Geass but not sure he'll classify as a villain.

What are your hobbies other than writing and reading?

Gaming, Streaming and Volleyball. I love Volleyball.

What are your hidden talents?

Gaming. I'm pretty decent.

Who is your first celebrity crush?

Selena Gomez probably. Not 100% sure tho

What is the most embarrassing situation that you have ever been through?

I try to avoid embarrassing situations. But as a writer, it was finding out that the image I had edited for my book was actually the cover of another successful book.

One craziest thing you have ever done?

Streaming on Dlive () has been a pretty scary experience since I'm not used to it yet.

There are many authors who just started their journey and many readers who want to write but have no courage to do so. Please give them a tip and a word of encouragement.

All you can do it try. If it doesn't work out, take it as a learning experience. But don't take away your chance to find success. For those starting, I'm here with you. I just starting as well so let's try and support each other. Feel free to message me and I'll try and respond with advice if I can.

Last but not the least, have you ever dreamt of writing your own comic?

Yes. 100%. That is one of my dreams. To be able to turn my book into a comic/manga/anime would be amazing. I just think in those mediums, you can really show and elicit the emotions in the readers that you want. I find it to be better than movies/tv-shows cause there is only so much humans can do until it starts looking unrealistic which takes the viewers out of it. But with comic/manga/anime the reader know it's not real so you can tell such amazing original stories that readers love.
