Hizashi stood outside your door for a few minutes after you shut it, still feeling guilty about his lack of helpfulness.

He shuffled through his bag that the doctors gave him. It contained his directional speaker and hero glasses that were a bit cracked. The leather jacket and shirt was probably still at your place and you had forgotten to give the ambulance crew them. He wondered if he should knock and get them back.

He snapped out of his thoughts when he felt Trinket pull his hair, which was still down and straight. He winced, then started walking to his home with his crutches supporting him.

The doctors had told him he would need it for only a few days, thankfully. He forgot to thank you for saving him last night from any major damage. Too much had happened.

Him, now an official boyfriend, not making it to the Battle of the Bands event was one small thing, but it meant a lot to you.

You were disappointed already, and having him injured and bleeding in your house would have made anyone break down.

And then your best friend had an emergency situation, and since they weren't anyone as important as him or any other pro hero, it wasn't likely she was going to have special treatment. Hizashi knew this, and so did you.

"How do I cheer her up?" Hizashi asked Trinket. Her crest raised and moved her head upside down to look down at Hizashi's face.

Hizashi stared at the origami bird's eyes that reflected light despite it being drawn on with a marker.

Suddenly, he felt a drop of water on his face. He looked up to see dark clouds and cursed. "Of course it has to rain on a sad day like this." Hizashi started walking faster with his crutches.

"They must be feeling terrible right now," Hizashi continued. Trinket started grabbing his glasses with her beak.

Hizashi let her, focused on thinking of how to get you to be happier. You said you wanted to be alone, but Hizashi knew you enough to know that that was a lie.

"Think," Hizashi muttered to himself. "What cheers them up?"

Trinket pulled his hair suddenly, making Hizashi flinch and almost trip over his crutches. "Hey!" He cursed, glaring at the bird that flew up in the air, his glasses in her beak.

"HEY!" Trinket squawked. "HEYYYY!"

Hizashi sighed again, and ignored her as he continued his way home, knowing that she'd follow him back. However, she perched on a tree and didn't move.

Hizashi walked slower, glancing at her. She stared at him back. Hizashi pretended to leave and turned a corner, but then glanced back after a few moments. Trinket was still in the tree, watching him.

Hizashi huffed, frustrated as his crutches walked him back there. "Trinket, c'mon!" He attempted to grab her from the tree gently with one hand.

Trinket flew away, heading towards your house with Hizashi's glasses still in her beak.

"Rina, how did you create this bird's personality?" Hizashi muttered, chasing after the bird as fast as he could with his injuries. Then he suddenly remembered.

Hizashi dumped his speaker and glasses out of the bag, leaving it empty. "Trink! You're going to get wet!" He called, tripping over himself once more. He abandoned his crutches and hero items to chase after the bird, holding only the empty bag.

His torso started to hurt immediately and he scrunched up his face in pain.

After a few minutes, he finally reached your house again and caught Trinket in the bag, shielding her from the rain. "Trinket," Hizashi muttered, shaking his head. He checked the paper bird to see if she was safely nestled in. He started to walk away from your house again, but suddenly heard the door open.

He looked back and saw you standing there with an umbrella, staring at him curiously.

"How long have you been standing there?" you asked in a soft voice.

"I left and came back because Trinket flew here," Hizashi explained, leaning against the wall to support himself. He showed you the bag that Trinket was in. "I'm heading back home now."

He turned to leave, holding his stomach with one hand and the bag in another. You watched as he slightly limped in pain, feeling guilty. It was starting to rain harder.

"Hold on," you called, voice hoarse. Hizashi looked back, his mountain eyebrows high. "I wanted to catch up to you to give you an umbrella since it was raining, but on second thought, you're injured. You can stay over if you'd like."

"It's fine, I can make it back." Hizashi gave you a large grin, but you saw his pain.

You ran over to him and grabbed his arm. "That wasn't an offer."

"But you just said 'if you'd like,'" Hizashi pointed out.

"Shush up." You dragged him into your house carefully.

"Wait, I left my stuff on the sidewalk though!" Hizashi argued.

"I'll go get it."

You helped him into your house, setting the umbrella down. You seated him down on the couch and he laid down, slightly curling up and holding his stomach. Trinket flew out of the bag and landed on the table. Thankfully, she wasn't too wet.

"I'll go get your stuff." You grabbed the umbrella again and ran out the door.

Hizashi put an arm over his face, trying to forget about the pain. After a few moments, he groaned and looked around at the room. He spotted his jacket and shirt hung over the racket. He'll retrieve it later.

He looked up at the ceiling, then back at Trinket. "Hey."

"HeY!" Trinket squawked, her voice cracking somehow.

"Could you get an instrument for me?"

Trinket stared at him for a moment, then flew to your instrument room. She came back a moment later with a flute on her talons. It weighed her down, and she was already a bit wet, so she accidentally flew into his face.

"Careful," Hizashi murmured, setting the cockatoo on the arm of the couch. He examined the flute. It looked shiny and brand new.

He put it up to his lips, laying on the couch and wondering what to play once you got back.

He heard the door open pretty soon and he hid the instrument. He watched as you came in holding his speaker, glasses, and crutches.

"Why were these just lying on the ground?" You grumbled. You set it on the table.

"I was rushing." Hizashi chuckled.

You organized Hizashi items and put them in a small bag so that he could carry them later. "So, what happened last night?"
