Skylar's POV:

My mama is playing her favorite song on the radio, Jessie's Girl, and I can hear her humming along to it quietly. I feel guilty having her come pick me up so late but that house was so big and there was weird noises that scared me once everyone was asleep. I'm not sure what time it is just that it's really dark and no one else is on the road.

"Is daddy mad mama?" I ask her from the back seat.

She smiles at my through the rear view mirror, "daddy doesn't know I left." She winks, "it'll be our little secret."

I can't help but smile. Daddy would be angry if he knew I didn't make it through the sleep over. Mama stops at a red light and when it turns green she starts through the intersection, suddenly bright lights stream into the car. Mama starts yelling and I close my eyes. There's a loud bash and I hear metal crunching all around me as glass flies across the car, I'm holding on screaming as we start flipping like we're on a roller coaster except we aren't. I can't breath, there screeching of tires and suddenly everything is eerily quiet. Then.... I slowly open my eyes. I'm laid side ways, there's a loud continuation of a horn hunking in the distance over the ringing in my ears. In front mama is slumped over.

"Mama?" I ask, "mama?"

Silence.

"Mama what's wrong?"

I try to move but a sharp pain shoots up my ribs and I loose my breath. The glass is shattered all around me, "MAMA!" I scream tears filling my eyes and that's when I see it, deep crimson blood starts dripping down from my mama and suddenly I open my mouth and the only thing I can do is scream.

"Baby!"

I gasp for air feeling like my lungs are burning and my entire body is covered in a cold sweat. Arms, I feel arms fighting with me as I struggle to shake their hold, "stop!" I scream feeling the rawness of my throat.

"Baby it's me!" The voice says but all I hear is ringing, glass shattering, I can see the blood dripping, "Skylar!"

"No!" I shove backwards ripping whatever it is around my legs and sprint. I don't know where I am and everything around me looks foreign. I need to run, bile is swarming in my throat as I reach a hallway, "where am I!"

"Skylar!"

Arms tangle around me and twirl me around my view becomes disoriented for a moment till warm honey brown eyes pierce mine filled with fear.

"Dylan...." I sigh right before crumbling.

"Shit!" He falls with me breaking my fall, "I'm right here." He cradles my head against his chest and I can feel the fast beating of his heart under his bare chest.

I can feel my heart beating in my throat, can sense my blood pounding in my ear drums, I'm so confused. I haven't had a nightmare in years, why now? I clutch to Dylans arms as he rocks soothing my own demons. I try to squeeze my eyes shut right, willing the horrid image from my mind.

"You scared the living shit out of me." He says against my hair, kissing me softly, "one minute I'm eating cereal the next....." he pauses, "your screaming bloody murder. I thought you were being attacked."

I don't reply, I just let him hold me waiting for my mind to shut off. He leans back and I look at him, there's panic flooding his honey eyes and the worry line between his brows is deep. He's examining I can tell. Searching for what's causing my pain but it's invisible, beneath the skin slowly killing me. Dylan gently pushes my wild hair from my face and cups my warm cheeks,
