Chapter 30

The trip to Hogsmede had arrived. You, Ron, Hermione and Harry were on your way to Hogs head to meet with some students who agreed to listen to what the four of you had to say. They hadn't yet agreed to be apart of Dumbledore's army because a few of them were still unsure about Harry, but you knew that they would join in the end.

"This is mad! Who'd want to be taught by me? I'm a nutter remember." Harry said as the four of you approached Hog's Head.

"look on the brightside, you can't be any worse than old toad face." Ron joked.

"Thanks Ron." Harry replied.

"I'm here for you mate." Ron answered. 

"Who's suppose to be meeting us then?" Harry asked. 

"Just a couple of people." You said as Hermione pushed the door open. Inside was a cold dark room with cobwebs at every corner and a bearded man stood at the bar. He looked the four of you up and down.

"Lovely spot." Ron said. 

"Though it'd be safer off the beaten track." Hermione answered. A goat came from behind the bar and went out through a door. The old man followed it and you raised your eyebrows in amusement.

"Matey come back here!" The man called after the goat.

"Seems like a cool guy." You said following Hermione to another room. When you entered there was a good few students in the room who'd turned up. 

It was quite awkward. Nobody really spoke to each other. You had you hands placed in your lap not really knowing what to say. 

Then Hermione stood up. "So you all know why we are here." She began nervously. "We need a teacher. A proper teacher. One who's had experience defending themselves against the dark arts."

"Why?" A boy piped up.

"Why? Because you-know-who is back you tosspot!" Ron insulted.

"So he says." The boy said looking at Harry.

"So Dumbledore says." You replied.

"So Dumbledore says because he says. The point is where's the truth?" 

"Potter could tell us more about how Diggory got killed." Another boy chimed in.

"I'm not going to talk about Cedric. So if that's why you're here then clear out." Harry said standing up. He turned to Hermione and sighed. "Come on Hermione. They're here because they think i'm some sort of freak."

"Is it true you produce a patronus charm?" Luna asked Harry.

"Yes it is." You replied.

"Yes I've seen it." Hermione said. 

"Blimey Harry, i didn't know you could do that." Dean exclaimed

"And he killed a basilisk, with the sword in Dumbledore's office." Neville said. 

"It's true." Ginny said. 

"Third year, he fought about a hundred dementors at once." Ron added.

"And last year he really did fight off you-know-who in the flesh." You said looking at everybody. 

"Look, it all sounds great when you put it like that, but the truth is i didn't know what I was doing half the time. I nearly always had help." Harry defended.

"He's just being modest." Hermione said.

"No, Hermione i'm not." Harry argued. "Facing this stuff in real life, it's different from school. In school if you make a mistake you can just try again tomorrow, but out there when you're a second away from being murdered or a friend die right before your eyes. You don't know what it's like." 

"You're right, Harry, we don't. That's why we need your help because if we're going to have any chance beating... Voldemort." Hermione answered. 

"He's really back." Someone said. Harry nodded.

Not long after everybody was signing their name to be apart of Dumbledore's army. You smiled as the list of names grew bigger and bigger.

"Right so first we need a place to practice so that Umbridge won't find out." Harry said on the across the bridge.

"The Shrieking shack?" Ginny suggested.

"It's too small." Harry replied. 

"Forbidden forest?" Hermione suggested.

"Not bloody likely." Ron said.

"Harry what happens if Umbridge does find out?" You asked.

"Who cares?" Hermione asked. "I mean it's sort of exciting isn't it? Breaking the rules." Hermione sang.

"Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?" Asked Ron.

"Anyway at least we know one positive thing that came from today." Hermione announced.

"What's that?" Harry asked.

"Cho couldn't take her eyes off you could she?" Hermione grinned.

"Right, over the next few days we need to come up with possibilities of places we can practice." Harry said. "We've got to make sure that wherever it is she cannot find us."

"Will do Harry." Fred replied.

The days that followed your head was constantly trying to think of places that might be open to be used but you couldn't think of anything. A new rule was already up it stated that 'All student organisations are henceforth banned, any student in noncompliance will be expelled.' You knew that wherever Dumbledore's army ended up practicing that it was still going to be very hard not getting caught.

"You've done it Neville! You've found the room of requirement!" Hermione exclaimed.

"The what?" Ron asked.

"It's also known as the come and go room." You added.

 "The room of requirement only appears when a person has a real need of it and it's equipped for the seeker's needs." Hermione informed.

"So say if you really needed the toilet..." Ron said.

"Charming Ronald, but yes that is the general idea of it."  Hermione replied.

"It's brilliant! It's like Hogwarts wanted us to fight back!" Harry smiled.

You basically skipped your way to the great hall. You were way too excited to start defensive lessons properly. Suddenly it felt as if you hit a wall. "Watch where you're going- oh it's you." Malfoy spat and turned around.

"Maybe you should watch where you're going." You replied.

"You literally ran into my back. That isn't my problem." Malfoy said looking at you. You chuckled and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. 

"I wasn't really paying attention." You admitted. 

"No shit." Malfoy scoffed and began walking.

"No need to be so rude." You said and walked as well.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Going to eat." You replied in a duh tone.

"Slow down or something it looks like we're going together." He said scowling.

"Grow up Malfoy. I don't think everybody will turn to the doorway of the great hall and think that we purposely came together." You said.

"I don't care, don't walk next to me." He spat.

"You're such a child." You replied jogging ahead of him and then turning and sticking your middle finger up at him. He chuckled and shook his head at you as you entered the hall.
