"Awww look at you baby!" I screamed when Ozzie came so quickly barking at me and jumping on me to lick my face.
I literally fell to the floor, -that's a big dog okay- laughing and petting him.
"Looks like someone missed me more than others." I remarked, throwing a fake death glare towards my uncle, making him roll his eyes with amusement.

"C'mon Ozzie you make me look like the bad guy now."

"I'm a bad guy... duh, touloutouloulouloulou.." I suddenly sang, not caring about the fact that I was sitting in the street singing at the top of my lungs, making Ozzie jump like a crazy puppy. "Boom, just got here and I already got a point!" I said to our dog with this weird baby voice I only used with him.
That may be weird but that was a game we always used to play here at home, we were music addicts. -I mean he was and he converted me-. Everytime we thought about a song because of things the other said we earned a point. That was actually really stupid and childish but I loved it.

"Okay, come inside children, we have to cook."

Getting up on my feet I followed him through the house, a huge smile on my lips.
"You mean I have to cook! What have you eaten the whole week? Pizzas?"
No answer. That means he really ate pizzas the whole week.

"Oh damn Derek, you're gonna have to change that to make Miss Jones fall in love with you." That earned me a small smack on the shoulder with the t-shirt he just took out from the floor.

"Will you please stop it with your teacher?"

"We both know I won't. Go put some music on while I wash my hands grandpa." And another smack on the back made me gasp.
"Eww that's thing's gross. Put that away from me."

I hadn't realized how much I had missed what I've got the chance to call home.
I had this wonderful human being standing to my side every fucking day, but still I felt like I didn't deserve all of this and that somehow, one day, life would take back what it gave me.

"Wow she really did that? That's nice of her, I knew she would be a cool teacher." I had managed to avoid the conversation during two days but it eventually came out.

"Yeah."

"And what happened after that night?"

"She never heard me again I think." Or maybe she had but didn't want to come and see me, which was absolutely comprehensible and everything I has asked for.

A sigh left my uncle's lips as he parked in front of the school.

"I'm gonna talk to her."

"Don't you dare! I swear, I can handle it. I don't need her pity. She already thinks I'm childish and weird."

"That's not true. No one think you are."

I just rolled my eyes as an answer before leaving the car. He quickly joined me, refusing to let me leave like that.

My smile came back when I saw her, Miss Jones.

"Damn. Looks like she's been waiting for you the whole weekend." His turn to roll his eyes.

The second she saw us, she waved at us -more Derek than me to be honest.- with a smile.

"Okay, my cue to leave. Please ask this nice lady her goddamn phone number, alright?" I said, quickly hugging him.

"Why do you curse so much young woman? And you don't get to tell me what to do."

"Yeah yeah alright. I'll call you tomorrow."
