"Alright, I'm gonna drop you there." Isabelle said before before we reached the entrance of the school, knowing no one would see us there.

I quickly took my bag and opened the door of her car before turning to her "Thanks. I guess I'll... see you later?"

She gave me a strong nod, not able to hide the adorable grin on her face "Absolutely."

But before I could go, her hand quickly gripped my wrist, pushing me towards her so she could kiss me rapidly, making me scream mentally at how cute and loving she was.

I discreetly left her car, looking absolutely normal. Not like I had ever been in my teacher's car, nor her freaking house.
And I joyfully walked towards the school where I soon met a blonde head at the entrance, sitting on the stone steps.

"Hi Cathy." I called her, knowing it was her even though the only thing I could see of her face was her hair.

My smile immediately faded away when I witnessed her facial expression.

Trying to save her dignity she quickly did her best to erase her visible tears and diverted her puffy eyes away from me.

"Hi Amanda. H-how are you?"

"Well how are you? Did something happen?" I worriedly questioned, kneeling in front of her.

Understanding she didn't have any possible way of escape, her eyes met mine for a few seconds before she looked down to her apparently nervous fingers.

"My-... my grandma is at the hospital. She was diagnosed with a cancer. I- I went to see her this weekend." She explained before breaking into tears again, hiding her face behind her trembling palms.

"Oh my god, is that what your mom told you before the movie the other night?" I remembered her weird expression when she told us about this call.

"Yeah."

Doing like any friend would have done, I bent down to wrap my arms all around her, allowing her to cry on my shoulder.

"She's going to be fine Cathy."

"I'm not sure... it seems pretty bad." She sobbed, stuck in my embrace.

"Why didn't you stay with your family? We could have taken the lessons for you, you know."

"My grandma didn't want me to miss school."

"Are you going to see her after class?"

"Yeah I... I want to. My mom is going to stay there the whole day. She'll pick me up later."

"Alright."

Our conversation was quickly pushed to an end when the bell rang, parting us away a bit.

"Are you going to be okay?" I asked, giving her a tissue so she could stop her mascara from falling on her cheeks.

She managed to give me a weak nod, far from convincing, as she tried to wipe her cheeks from the black stains glued onto her pale skin.

"No wait, here." I took the tissue back and erased myself the streaks of mascara, not realizing how close I was, or the fact that she had totally stopped breathing for at least six seconds.

"Thank you." She muttered, flashing me a small smile, highlighting her flushed cheeks.

Before I could reply, a head I knew too well passed next to us, walking extremely fast and not looking back.
Isabelle.
