Isabelle's point of view

"Mom let me book them for you. Last time you did it yourself you almost ended up in Spain." I amusingly reminded her the last time she had booked a plane ticket to come and see my sister and I, when she was still living here.

I could hear my father approve my words in the distance, letting me imagine the scene. Him peacefully sitting on the couch watching whatever old show he secretly liked while my mom was surely sitting on the outside space of their house in Florida.

My head was slowly moving from left to right while their muffled words were coming to my ears, acting like the old couple they were, when a knock on my door alerted me.
Jumping on my feet I quickly joined my porch where I found a smiling Amanda.

I mouthed an excited « hey babe » before leaving a discreet peck on her lips, afterwards hoping that this sound didn't travel to my mother's ears.

With a large grin mirroring mine Amanda silently made her way inside my small apartment, stopping at another corner of the room to leave me some time to finish this conversation.

I must admit I kept giving my mother all the clues to understand I was with someone as for the following minutes the only sentence that could leave my lips was a vague « mmh mmh, yeah ».
The way Amanda was just looking around, looking awfully nice in that pair of jeans was just atrociously distracting.

It must have been obvious to everyone, because the next thing she did was to turn towards me with a slight frown, wondering why I sounded like a broken record player, until she caught my gaze and drew an amused grin on her face.

After a short amount of time I understood our call had arrived to an end, therefore I quickly muttered a last few words before hanging up.
"Alright, love you mom'. See you soon."

Once the call was over I just got the time to leave my phone on the table before a pair of warm arms snuck around my waist from behind, her perfume invading my senses and already making my head spin.

"Hey lovely woman." She softly said, leaving a tender kiss at the back of my neck.

I was soon facing her, meeting again those reassuring blue eyes of hers.

"Hey there."

"You will visit your parents?" She questioned, an incredibly soft expression settling on her face that for some reasons managed to make my heart melt a bit more.

"My sister. We usually do Christmas at our parents' house but they wanted to join her in her brand new home this year. I'm gonna book their tickets." I explained with a sigh, immediately reminding myself to hide my deception behind a smile.

But even the tiniest detail that my face or tone could have shown of my feelings didn't go unnoticed by her as a frown immediately made its way on her forehead again.
"What's that face for? That's great you haven't seen them in a while." She then said, letting the end of her sentence sound like a hidden question.

"I kinda hoped we could see each other for those holidays." I mumbled, tilting my head to the side a little, feeling a bit stupid for acting that way.

A small grin appeared on her face before she softly kissed my lips, this constant affection making every doubt I could have vanish in the air for a while.

"Well, when will you come back from your sister's?"

My eyes squinted as I created a mental calendar in my head to visualize when I should be back.
"Probably a few days before the end of school break. My parents always try to dodge crowded days like the weekends to travel."
