-:-:- Eli -:-:-

Aesop's eyes went wide, though I could barely see it through the tears appearing in my eyes.

His hands went from gently rubbing the dark and sore places to cupping my face and wiping away the few stray tears that fell.

"God, Eli. Please calm down. We can say both of us were a little out of hand, but there are ways to fix this! You literally wear heavy cloaks and you must remember I am an embalmer."

A sense of relief flew over me, as I shot up and wrapped my arms around his neck tightly.

"Oh thank god!"

Aesop just chuckled lightly, rubbing my back as I hugged him. He pulled away and brought out a small suitcase beside where I was sitting and opened it to show all the interesting things.

"Babe, when I'm done, no one will ever be able to tell."

He began gently rubbing over it with liquids and powders on brushes and things. I couldn't tell what they were, so I just closed my eyes and tried not to sneeze or laugh as he did it.

"See! Go look in the mirror!"

I had lost track of the few minutes as he worked, so when his voice spewed that, I shot up and looked in the mirror.

It was... like nothing ever happened.

I smile brightly, looking back at him.

"Alright... we should join a match now."

-:-:-

The air felt almost toxic in this fucking carnival-ass bitch map.

God...

The music was getting to my head, as I continued to shove my fingers into the buttons on the cipher.

Typing.

It was so easy for me, and being the last cipher, it was also really hard to stay focused. Everything felt so distant in it all, as the exit gates flashed that they could now be opened.

With everything I had, I ran for the nearest one, occasionally using my trusty owl to check on everyone.

My mind end blank, as I approached the gate with the forward at it. He was typing in the codes, so I stood back and began to check on everyone again. The exit was quick, and everyone was quickly walking back to the manor.

"Eli wait up!" A familiar voice yelled out. I laughed gently under my breath, stopping and letting everyone else go ahead while I waited for the love of my life to catch up.

Aesop's hands landed on my shoulder, to which I began to walk again with him. My good was down, but it still came pretty far up my neck. Though I trust him a lot, there is no way to tell that something bad won't happen.

Aesop leaned over, and I turned my head so my lips connected with his. He smiled gently, before lightly placing his arm around my shoulder as we walked.

We were going a lot slower than the others. It would take a minute to get back to the manor anyways.

Everything felt okay, as we walked, but then hell itself started pouring down in one motion. There was no warning, as rain began to pour.

f u c k

My feet moved faster than ever before, as I ran through the rain.

No. The makeup was going to wash away.

I kept running, quick footsteps behind me that I could only describe as Aesop's.

I just ran.

My calves burned the whole way there, and as soon as I hit the porch of the manor, my hands slammed against the ground. I fell to my knees, everything in me aching.

God no-

"Eli! Why are you running through the rain! It's okay!"

"It's not! The stuff will come off-"

"No, it won't!"

My heart felt like it just stopped beating as I lied there.

What?

"Eli... baby, there's stuff so it won't smudge and shit!"

Everything felt so numb.

"O-oh my god-"

-:-:-

My eyes felt sore from all the crying in the past few days and all the sobbing after dinner. I just feel so awful all the time and is not fair.

Nothing is fair.

Aesop just... needs to think I'm okay. It'll all be okay. Everything just hurts.

The boy I love entered the room quickly, walking over to me with a small mug. He sat it down on the bedside table, smiling down at where I was sitting on the bed.

"It's tea. You should drink it."

I nodded gently, but that just drained away all my energy all together.

Everything felt super dry and just dead, as I looked at the mug. I didn't have enough energy to lift my hand up and grab it. Actually, I didn't have enough energy to move at all.

Aesop must've noticed because he walked over and gently wrapped his arms around me.

It was warm, and I used all I had left to just lean into his chest and let him hold me.

"Are you alright? What's wrong?"

"I'm just so tired... I freaked out earlier and everything is so stressful. I don't really know anymore."

Aesop just nodded, running one hand up and down my back and the other through my hair.

Before I could even think, he turned around and scooted his back between my legs. I was confused but then-

He grabbed my arms, wrapped them around his neck, backed up a bit more, and grabbed my thighs.

I couldn't help but giggle, as Aesop carried me on his back around the room.

Brooke Rose flew around for a bit, chirping happily, before quickly sitting on another pitch and staying there. Aesop just walked for the door, which made my anxiety race.

We were leaving the room?

Aesop just kept walking through the halls. They were lit up, as it was almost dinner time. Everything in me silently pleaded that he wouldn't actually make me go there.

"Are you hungry?"

"No."

"Well too bad because we're getting food then eating in Tracy's room."

I couldn't help but smile. Our friends... yes, eating with them wouldn't be too bad.

Aesop took us downstairs, and went to the kitchen. There, we grabbed a few sandwiches and such, before quickly walking back up.

When we entered the room, the sound of soft music was already playing on the inside and all the others were already there.

Naib smiled widely when we walked in. Tracy giggled gently, and Emily just gave a small smile too.

"You guys made it!" Naib cheered, mouth full of food as he spoke. Tracy smacked his arm lightly, but he just kept smiling.

Aesop lightly set me down on the floor and handed me my food. I stared at the sandwich before beginning to take very small bites of it.

Aesop smiles widely at me, sitting between me and Naib on the floor and taking a bite of his own.

Maybe... it's not all really that bad.
