Chapter 46: Artemis

There's a knock on my door. "Come in." I say as I do another sit-up.

Talia walks in. "Good morning Artemis, I missed you at breakfast." She says.

"Wasn't hungry." I say as I stand up then throw some punches at my little punching-bag.

"I can understand why. Today is the day we change the world!"

I throw another punch. "Yep. Can't wait." I mumble.

"I brought you something." Talia says. "A pre-battle gift."

I stop punching and hold the bag to make it stop moving.

Talia grabs a box from outside the room, then sits on my bed. I come sit down beside her. She places the box in my lap, I pull the lid off.

"What's this?" I ask as I pull out the black half-mask.

"Well, I figured you should have a new uniform for when we take down the city, and while your old one was nice, I think you'll find this is much better." Talia says as she pulls the jacket out.

"It's all black." I say.

"For stealth. Easier to get past your enemies."

"Thank you Talia." I say as I put everything back in the box.

"I'll leave you, so you can get ready. The final hours have started." Talia says as she stands up.

"Talia," She looks at me.

"Would it be alright if I go for a walk through the city?" I ask.

"For what purpose?" Talia asks.

"Just, to clear my head, survey the area for vantage points." I say.

"Of course. Would you like to be accompanied?"

I shake my head.

"Very well. Would you like some money for food?" Talia asks.

I nod. "Please."

"Alright. I will send someone to take you to the city, be back in one hour." Talia says as she leaves the room.

I sit back on my bed and sigh. 

A few minutes later there's a knock on my door. I get up and open it.

"Talia sent me to drive you to the city." The person says.

"Fine let's go." I say as I grab a hoodie.
