"And say what? 'A psychopath murderer is threatening me?' Who do you think would've believed that?"

"Hmm..." He tapped his fingers against his knee, "You're right, most would think it's just a silly prank. So, what did you do instead?"

"Anything that would help me survive. I complied."

Standing in front of the clear, ice-like glassed floor length mirror, I tied my hair into a half-up updo, pinning the stray strands with black hairpins behind my head. Maeve on the other hand, meandered throughout the room, rehearsing her eulogy while Grace adjusted her black rose-shaped stud earrings, her eyes distant and thoughtful.
