Princess Over Night

Tears stream down my face and I smile. I turn towards Lauren and she hugs me.

"You're going to be a mom!" She tells me.

"Oh my god." I cry.

"Oh my goodness you're going to have a baby!" She says excitedly.

"I'm going to have a baby!" I repeat.

We both laugh and the tears finally stop.

I hear the front door open and I freeze.

"Get rid of them!" I tell her and she quickly throw the pregnancy tests into the garbage covering them with toilet paper.

"Princess?"

He walks in and freezes when he sees us.

"What's wrong?" He asks quickly coming over to me.

"I um.." I look at Lauren and she nods for me to continue.

"I have to tell you something." I tell him.

"I'm going to give you two a minute." Lauren says leaving my room.

"Kate what's wrong?" He asks.

"Slater, I um.. I got sick this morning." I start.

"Are... are you ok?" He looks me up and down.

"And um... I wasn't sure when the last time I had gotten my period was." I continue.

His eyes snap up to mine.

"I called Lauren and she... she got me a pregnancy test."

His eyes widen. "And?" He asks.

"It came out positive." I tell him.

"Don't you have to take more than one?" He asks.

"I took three. All of them were positive."

"S-so you're pregnant?"

I nod slowly.

"You're having a baby?" He asks and I see tears fill his eyes.

"Well I'm hoping we're having a baby..." I tell him. 

He smiles and a tear rolls down his cheek.

"I'm going to be a dad?" He asks obviously in shock.

"You're going to be a dad." I tell him.

He quickly hugs me.

"There's no one I'd rather have a child with i-,"

His phone rings and he pulls it out.

"Give me one second princess." He says answering the phone and leaving the room.

Lauren comes in and we both squeal like little girls.

"What'd he say?" She asks excitedly.

"He seemed excited." I tell her.

"Where'd he go?" She asks.

"To answer a call, probably just work."

She nods.

I go downstairs and she follows me. I search the rooms for him but I don't find him.

I go to the garage and I see that his car is missing.

"Why couldn't he tell me he was leaving?" I ask

"Let's just go inside maybe he just had to get something and he'll be back in a few minutes." Lauren says leading me inside.
