Master Splinter x reader

I was listening to music when I realized that I should do the most awesome sensei/father ever!!!

*Notes: this takes place between Tokka vs. The World & The Tale of Tigerclaw & it's about 1,234 words long 😂*

Title of oneshot: Prom 🤎

(Y/n)'s p.o.v

It's been a crazy rollercoaster of a lifetime being with the turtles, whether it be from Kraang, Shredder, or even just mutants in general. Oh! And they told us stories of how they had to save the world from these weird looking dinosaur aliens. Recently they also stopped a giant space turtle from tearing apart New York, but I've never left Yoshi's side. He and I have grown close to the other during our years of staying in the lair, he's also taught me some ninjutsu. I found them in the sewers when I just wanted a walk without much noise... when I heard them.

Enough about the past, right now we're all in the lair, Yoshi, Leo and I are meditating, when Mikey runs in sounding happy. "Guys! Guys!! I just had the best idea" Mikey says and sits down in front of us, I smile and open my eyes. Leo and Yoshi do the same as I am the one to ask "what is it, Mikey??" He smiles at me the most. "April has been talking about this thing at school, we should do our own proom!!" Mikey exclaims. Leo tilts his head "'proom'?? What the shell is proom??" He asks and looks at Yoshi.

"I believe what Michelangelo is trying to say is prom... and that sounds like a good idea, but whatever mess you make, you clean it up afterwards." I smile at this and Mikey starts celebrating while running around the lair, which confused his brothers. "What's Mikey going off about now??" Donnie is the first to ask as he walks in, so I giggle. "Prom, it's a party for teenagers where music is playing and you can either eat snacks or dance. Maybe drink some punch too" I explain, so Leo and Donnie finally understood the concept.

Yoshi playfully elbows me saying "and you can ask someone if they'd like to accompany you to go, as in, a date" I blush slightly at this. Okay, throughout the years of Yoshi and I growing close, it helps that we both love the other. The turtles even accept me with open arms that I can be their mother figure, since I do help out a lot. Leo and Donnie share a smirk as they laugh and run out, so I playfully roll my eyes at Yoshi. "You know, I didn't peg you as a flirty type, Yoshi" I say and put my head on his shoulder.

He chuckles and says "I'm only like that for you, (Y/n)~" We both share a small laugh and share a small peck, but realize we should help them set up the dojo.

-at night when Prom started-

Here's how it went down, as we were setting up, I had to give advice to all of the guys, first it was Donnie with this new member of the team. I told him that they have their moments, and she'd probably be happy to go with him. Then it was Mikey, he was freaking out on wondering if he should ask Shinigami to dance. So I just told him to be his energetic self, and she'd probably enjoy that and accept the offer. Yoshi helped me with Raph, since he was so insecure about asking Mona Lisa to Prom, especially since they both wouldn't know what to do.

When he finally left, Leo realized that he wants to ask Karai, but didn't know how to go about doing so, since she's "basically" his step sister. I helped him saying that, despite Karai being Yoshi's real daughter, that he only views Yoshi as a father. So if he really wanted to, he can ask out Karai, I don't know if he really is going to ask her, but I just hope he has fun. Donnie also told April as Raph told Casey, I'm guessing Casey asked April to this, but now we're all ready. Except I'm not in the outfit I wanted to be in, so as the lights go down, I ran out without anyone noticing.

Getting in a kimono I got shipped over, I look in the mirror at the (f/c) fabric that just makes me look so good in it, so I run back out. Everyone is dancing to Weeza's playlist, the girl that Donnie has been obsessing over. Yoshi was dancing a little too, a warm smile on his face, but he finally noticed my absence. He looked my way and I seen his jaw drop a little as his eyes light up, so I make my way over to him. "Hey there, Yoshi" I say as he smiles a big loving smile and kissed my forehead "hello, my (Y/n)."

We danced, many songs later I see Weeza going over to her phone that's hooked up to speakers, she instantly put on a slow song. My blush comes instantly as I smile softly at Yoshi's loving face, he holds his hand out to me. "May I have this dance?" Yoshi asks as I feel my blush growing faint, and I accept his hand gracefully. "Do your ninjas wear bandanas??" I ask playfully, he chuckles and we start dancing to the beat. The song making me so happy somehow, and from the look of Yoshi's face, it was making him happy too.

It took us a minute to realize that we're in the middle of the room, my loving songs are slow dancing too, with every girl they were worried about asking out. Leo with Karai, Raph with Mona, Donnie with Weeza (despite the height difference), and Mikey with Shinigami. Then there's always Casey with April, but Yoshi made me look him in the eye, love in his eyes. I smile and say "you're the best man I'll ever have... even if you are a mutant rat, Yoshi." Yoshi chuckles softly and says "I have been blessed with you, (Y/n)... but I am happy you took a chance on me."

Tearing up a little I notice him leaning in, so I do too, and we share a kiss, the moment feeling perfect.... throughout the kiss I had nice flashbacks. Flashbacks that contained moments between Yoshi and me, me and his sons, April, Casey.. and Weeza. How I was saved by Yoshi himself, and we can only grow closer from here on out. When we separated from the kiss I could feel the tears slowly falling from my eyes as I look Yoshi in the eye. He's smiling softly as I notice some of his fur a bit wet, he was most likely crying happy tears too.

"Awwww!" Mikey and Weeza say as they're gushing, Leo and Raph glare at the two and scolded them, but Donnie chuckled while shaking his head. April was smiling warmly at the entire group of people in the room as is Karai, but Casey and Shinigami are smiling softly. I look back at Yoshi as I notice him doing the same as we just share a chuckle and hug. The music got upbeat and happy again, but Yoshi and I are still hugging as we're standing. The song made Yoshi say "let's have fun!" Then we start dancing happily with the group, I never want to forget this night... ever.
