It's been a week since we lost Ace, a week since Jex and I had our fight, a week since we made up again. A few hours later and it'll be a week since we felt our baby boy kick for the first time.

Things haven't been smooth sailing since losing Ace and once again I find myself stuck in the middle of the Cobras and the Vipers who are both working day and night on trying to find out what happened, why Ace and who was behind. If only they'd work together maybe they'd have the answer by now.

Dressed in a simple black dress and some heels I pull my blonde curls over my shoulder and make my way down the hall, headed for the office where Jex is still working. I reach the door and lean against it, my head on the door frame as I watch him typing away on his laptop, sitting behind his desk.

He's dressed in a slimline black suit and his black hair is slicked back, longer on the top then it is on the sides, he looks so handsome.

"Are you ready to go?"

He looks up at me and smiles, then closes the lid of his laptop and stands to his feet, as he does the button on his suit jacket up once more. "You look beautiful," he says, as he makes his way over to me.

"Thanks, you look handsome, as always," I give him a soft smile, as I look up at him.

"Are you sure it's okay for me to come today? I don't want to cause any trouble."

"I'm sure Jex. Ace was your friend as much as he was mine. He would want you there," I place my hand on his cheek, stroking it gently with my thumb. "Marni wants you there and I want you there," I remind him. "I'm just as much an outcast as you. So please don't make me do it alone," I slide my hand from his check to his chest, looking up at him.

"I'd never make you do anything alone," he leans down and presses a kiss to my lips.

"Let's go, we don't want to be late."

...

We arrive at the chapel and park the car in the car park. As soon as we step out, Jex takes my hand and we make our way toward the doors together. As we come into view of everyone already arrived I notice just how many people are here. There must be at least two hundred people, most of them Cobras and their families. But there's also Ace's family and old friends from school, who are also friends with my brother.

As we get closer to the door, I notice a few of the Cobra girls looking me up and down. They are whispering and gossiping as I walk by. I tighten my grip on Jex's hand, feeling self conscious.

"I'm here baby," he reminds me and he raises my hand to his lips, kissing it sweetly.

I smile softly up at him as we walk. Finally we reach the doors and music beings to play. See you again, by: Wiz Kalifa and Charlie Puth.

"We might just wait back here," I suggest.

"Whatever you're comfortable with," Jex nods.

As everyone inside the chapel begins to sit down, I can see all of the family in the front of the room. Marni with lots of support around her, in the form of her parents, Ace's parents, Millie, Riv and Abel. In the second and third rows looks to be everyone else; Aria, Jackson, Ruby, Soph and the entire crew.

...

The funeral was sad, just like any other. But at the same time it brought a smile to face hearing funny stories, watching funny pictures on the slide show and remembering what an amazing person Ace was. The two main speakers were Abel and Marni. Abel's speech was all about friendship and about what a good person Ace was, it was short and sweet. However, I know it would have been very hard for Abel, so I'm proud of him.
