It was a quiet week, I had time to make great progress in my book, day and night writing. The only breaks for meals, that were oddly silent, only once or twice when Milluki decided to leave his room and commented on his new project, my watch, did things get more cheerful.

Illumi walked in, dressed up with a crimson crop top, and black pants. Gold pins all over his body, and his shiny black hair in a bun. I could feel the drool dribbling down my chin, as I gazed the man from top to bottom. "Y/N, you have two hours to get ready."

I composed myself, "What will I be doing?"

"We'll be killing creatures called chimera ants, they invaded several cities." His absentminded voice ringing as he stared around the room, probably surprised as there were no random objects on the floor. "You should wear comfortable combat clothes; these adversaries have knowledge of nen."

I hummed, as I started by rummaging the closet, picking up a darker outfit, maybe all black I thought as I grabbed some tight pants and a tank top. "Could you get me a leg holster? I'd like to take my knife."

"Yes, need any more weapons?" He started nearing the door.

"A light sword, any kind. A small handgun, and things to hold those." I spouted waiting for him to leave so I could start dressing myself, not that there was something he hadn't seen before. "How many of them?"

"There is no specific number, we were paid finely to get rid of every single one of them in the city." A sigh left my lips, as a sudden worry raised.

"Do you think Killua and his friends are safe?" Silence followed, and I heard his pins hit the wall as he leaned against it.

"I am sure." His voice sounding less joyful than usual. "You said it yourself, Killua is mastering his transmutation powers using electricity."

"True." My lips curled, the day where Illumi would say comforting words, the saints must've fallen out of the altar. "Thank you, Illumi."

"What for?" He said grasping the handle of the door, ready to leave and gather the stuff I had asked for.

"For the weapons you're going to get, of course."

"Oh, you're welcome, Y/N." And he left, leaving me to quickly change clothes and stretch.

He didn't take long to return with everything I had requested. I equipped them easily, putting my most used knife on the holster stuck in my leg, and a smooth katana, incredibly light in its case on my back.

We left earlier since I had nothing else to do, on the trip I asked for more details on the Chimera ants.

After being shocked at how they came to be, I stared into the distance. "So there are more places being attacked by them..."

"Yes, well grandfather has a job scheduled someday soon, the hunter association seems to be needing his skills." I hummed; old man Zeno sure was powerful. That would be an interesting fight to watch.

"How long do we have left?" I looked at the window, everything looked tiny down there, the zeppelin was soaring in the sky.

"Not much, remember we must kill them all, separate the heads from the bodies." My eyes met his, doubt filling my head.

"Are they all evil?"

"Well some of them have been killing and terrorizing people." That wasn't enough but I'd take it. "Plus they were made by ingesting humans, and seem to keep eating them."

When we landed, we took a cab as I pointed out the huge tower of smoke rising in the middle of the city. The poor driver couldn't take us closer, so we ran gaining higher ground the rest of the way.

There were a lot of humanoid creatures, some of them combining many bug parts, my eyes widened, Illumi had warned me about it but seeing it in person hit harder. In the corner of my eye I saw one of the creatures eat a small child, and my blood froze. F/C bloodlust oozed out of me, as I jumped down the small building we were standing in and ran to kill the murderous beast. A few gunshots were all it took to lay it down, but then I felt it stronger ants nearby, ants who knew how to use nen and weren't hiding it.

I turned back to see Illumi spin in the air as a beetle head flew off and two other ants ripped others apart. So he already had made some puppets, a smirk grew on my lips as I pulled the katana out, and decided to join the party, adrenaline filling my veins as my heart pumped faster and faster.

The katana was extremely sharp, as a single thrust went through a mix of a rabbit and a dog with several spider legs. Soon, I breathed what could only be described as poisonous gas, but it soon vanished as another head popped off flying towards me. Illumi was doing the most beautiful and lethal dance, and the dark blue blood of the creatures seemed to spill following his movements.

A tiny graze in my arm from an ant whose hand was a gun made me wake up from the daze I was in. I pulled out the handgun firing as I ran to cover myself in the ruins of a nearby building, saving the gun. I called forth the best shooter, another gun appearing in my hand as I turned the corner and counted seven creatures, the one who fired against me and some that were gathering around Illumi, my eyes closed as my body entered autopilot, and my finger pressed the trigger.

I took the time to shut down my nen, becoming incredibly vulnerable until it was oozing out again, a blank slate for me to pick a different book. I ran into battle, holding the knife Feitan had gifted me and picking the teleporting assassin cutting heads off as I approached Illumi.
