LXXXIV. Return

After a while Illumi was on the move, heading for the hospital, the place where the immense nen came from. My mind was on the kids as he knocked out the butlers, "Killua, you ordered Nanika, you didn't wish... back in the manor, you didn't fulfill three requests of Nanika, you simply played with Alluka, there was no price because you ordered... the fingernails were the price for Milluki's computer... Those are my conclusions, what do you think?"

My eyes went to the end of the corridor, Killua was seating with Alluka on his lap, surrounded by two butlers, and he didn't answer, turning Illumi's little smile into a frown as he walked closer. 

"I'll get to the point, I'm the one who can use Nanika's power effectively and safely, for the Zoldyck family." Shivers went up my spine... I knew it... Of course, he'd want to control it. "As it stands, Alluka is no more than a spirit locked forever in one room. But if I control him with you at his side, at the very least I can guarantee his freedom."

"Disgusting..." I heard myself whisper, certain that at least Illumi would've listened. What a disgusting offer...

"Brother, I'll protect Alluka." As the air grew colder, Illumi's aura drew darker. I was proud of the white-haired boy, protecting his family.

"Kill, you need to learn your place." I rolled my eyes, accepting my path, more than accepting my path I'd own it.

"Nanika, wake up." The mask turned to face us, smiling, I smiled back. It was only polite to do so. I wondered who picked Alluka's clothes, they had some nice personality, specially the headband and the little faces on the two strands of hair framing Nanika's mask. 

Power filled the room, making Illumi's hair fly slightly, almost like wind...

"Kill, this is your last chance. Let me have Nanika-" This man really got on my nerves, I grabbed his arm ready to stop him.

"Nanika, send Illumi back home."

"'Kay" The wind grew stronger and Illumi glowed purple before disappearing, leaving me grasping on thin air. My eyes were wide, heart raced as I wondered what had happened to Illumi, but then my mind started working again, remembering Killua had sent him back home and that there was nothing to be afraid of.

If Killua orders it there's no need to worry about requests... That's what Illumi would be thinking, my eyes fell to the boy, he had to escape. If Illumi got his needle in him, that'd be very bad...

"Well, lord chocolate help me, I just lost my company for the trip back home... Teleportation sounds nice~." 

"Y/N, Tsubone, Amane, can you leave us alone for a moment? If you don't, I'll have to issue a command to Nanika." 

"Killua, pat my head." A thin voice requested, I smiled, what a nice person. 

"Nanika is doing this because she wants my praise. I don't want to use her by issuing commands, so please..." 

I patted Killua's head, much to his surprise, and then moved on to Nanika's head, with a smile on my face as I said goodbye. "Have fun you two! Stay safe." And like that I rushed out, as Nanika kept asking for Killua.

I fastened my pace to the airport, teleportation did sound amazing, travelling alone was sad. A black limo pulled over, and from it the old lady butler came out, opening a door for me. "Miss Y/N we'll be accompanying you to the Manor."

I nodded. And got into the comfortable car, I wasn't planning to run anyway. My head was aching and Illumi's command was to meet him on the 10th. "What about Killua and Alluka?"

"Their restrictions were lifted." I sighed, lips curling, I knew Illumi wouldn't quit his plan though... but my path was to meddle in his life and keep the kids away from his controlling needles...

"That's great, I hope they have fun outside the large walls of Kukuroo Mountain." The old lady, Tsubone smiled at me sincerely, her eyes wrinkling. 

"Do you want to have fun outside Kukuroo Mountain, Miss Y/N?" Amane, the other butler, Tsubone's granddaughter asked. 

"No, I have more important things to do there." Ah yes, to take my needle off, complete the final test, marry Illumi, meddle in his life, slowly drive him insane, get stronger under the safety of being part of the Zoldyck family. Make sure he'll never control Killua again. My mask rose up, as an innocent smile dangled on my lips. "You see, I'm pretty sure I left my newly finished book there, and I don't have any other copies... The dread of losing my precious and hard work."

"Ah yes..." 

The trip proceeded with the maximum comfort, everything money could provide. My pain kept growing though, but as soon as I set foot outside the car, I opened the testing gates easily and rushed to the manor, Illumi was waiting for me at the entrance and as soon as my eyes grasped his shape in the distance, a wave of relief crossed me, as my pain dissipated.

"Illumi." I bowed jokingly, he didn't seem bothered by it. 

"Y/N, you're back." He simply stated as he walked inside, guiding me through the stone-cold corridors.

"How was teleportation?"

"Effective and painless." Ah yes, what else to expect from this stoic man. 

"Why are you my guide today?"

"Your watch isn't ready yet." I hummed, the very convenient watch that Milluki was building for me...

"I meant why are you guiding me. Where is Gotoh?" He stopped in his tracks and his gaze set on me.

"He's dead." My smile went away, and my aura rose, dark f/c filling the halls. 

"What happened?" The words scratched my throat. 

"Hisoka killed him in the chase for Killua." The only person who was nice to me in this manor, killed by the perverted clown?

"You... It was your fault wasn't it...? You allowed it." Rage filled my mind, as my nails grew sharper.

"Yes, I did."
