WARNINGS: Explicit Conten...
Illumi was quiet until we reached a black slick car, the walk took a while and I was running so many questions through my head that it was about to blow up.
He pulled a very recent phone and handed it to me, there I could see Killua on a car, along with Canary and another butler.
"Well this is... Probably your mother's doing... Along with a bit of Milluki?" I stared in amazement at the screen, how convenient. "What are you trying to do, Illumi?"
"I wanted to kill Alluka, to make sure the Zoldycks stayed alive." I hummed, there was a talk about people dying because of the wishes... "You'd kill your family to save your family?"
"I'd gladly die if it meant that my family wouldn't." I stared into his void eyes, this man... Was brainwashed from an early age, but that would make sense in a normal family.
"That's cute, Illumi. But it seems that you seek to control Alluka's powers... That isn't very selfless of you..." He hummed getting into the car and starting the engine without waiting for me to get in. I rushed in, and the door was closing as the car zoomed its way across the dirt path.
"The rules don't apply to Killua." Illumi stated quietly, taking a sharp left turn. Damn, these forest paths were harsh.
"Why would they?" I replied absent-mindedly, only to see Illumi stare at me through the corner of my eye and panic because he was the one driving. "Look at the road!"
I heard myself say, he didn't, he tilted his head, almost as if looking at me would make him understand my statement. The car was going at a decent velocity for me to grab the sides of my seat and screech "Illumiii..."
His eyes finally turned to the road, and I wondered how luck played a part in this moment, or if he actually knew how to drive perfectly with his peripheral vision only. The doubt remained, sometimes the notion that Illumi could do practically anything was rather hard to grasp. After all, his aloof and dull personality did make me doubt him a lot. I didn't mind it too much; it was like discovering a new facet to a new gemstone.
Illumi was interesting, going on missions with him was... As hard as it is to admit, fun. Yet... This side of him, this controlling and maniacal side... Was enough to throw me off...
"What did you mean?" His voice brought me back to reality, I was staring at him for too long. The surroundings were becoming less bushy and the road was smooth pavement now.
"Imagine a genie on the bottle. Every wish comes with an awful twist." He nodded, "The genie brings disasters and horrors to others lives... Since his life consists of being locked in a bottle. That's how you see it..."
I stared at the window. "Killua sees Alluka, his sister, a person he loves and cares for. Someone he wants to protect and someone he wants to be happy, that also includes your genie in the bottle, Nanika."
The engine of the car was the only thing that was heard, and I assumed he hadn't understood it yet.
"Rules..."
"Ah!" He interrupted, finally reaching the conclusion I hoped. "I see."
"Yes, the rules will always apply to you. You're thirsty for power and control... That's what's wrong about you... Some things aren't meant to be controlled, they're meant to be loved and that is a powerful but pure way of ownership... Working both ways..." I hummed that was a nice idea.
He parked the car near a tall building and walked out without any explanation. I followed him, still holding the phone, Killua had reached the hospital. Alluka was still asleep.
After what seemed like enough stairs to reach the moon, the cool morning breeze pleasantly ran through my hair, I sighed. The sky was a beautiful blue, Illumi was standing on the edge of the floor, the top floor of this huge building.
"Illumi." I mumbled as I sat nearby. Legs stretched as I massaged them.
"I don't understand what you said about the pure way of ownership." I rolled my eyes, of course you wouldn't, dumbass.
"Let's say I loved someone, I'd give myself to that person, trust them and help them if they needed. It's not that person owning me, I have the choice, but I choose to do well to that one person that I care about." I tossed the phone at Illumi, who caught it gracefully. "You could compare it to your love for your family, even though... That's not quite it because your family groomed you to be that way..."
"Alluka's awake." I jumped up, loosing balance, and grabbing Illumi's pale muscular arm.
"She is?" My grip tightened, and I drew closer. "Guess Gon will be better soon then."
I stared into the screen, I didn't do anything to help Killua and Alluka... I wasn't here in time... If anything had happened to them...
A large pillar of dark nen rose up on a building nearby, shivers took over my spine as my eyes widened. Fear was such a primal instinct, my heart dropped, my guts felt hollow, skin wished to crawl out of my body.
A familiar aura surrounded me, dark, thirsty for power, my eyes switched to Illumi, but I didn't flinch, nor did I release his arm. I didn't fear it, it wasn't directed at me.
"Magnificent." He said loudly, gazing at the large pillar of nen surrounding the hospital. His dark hair flowing up, his maniacal laugh erupted, his body shook, but my hands didn't leave his arm. I felt disgusted, hopeless... He wanted it, and at minimal chance... He'd get it... I just wanted to meddle in, be a nuisance If I ever had to fight truly with Illumi I'd loose, I still had a lot of training to do...
For myself and for the poor children whom Illumi wanted to control.
When everything finished, my expression was undaunted, my grasp around his arm was firm. His eyes flickered to me, "Y/N... Fearless?"
"What do I have to fear?" Illumi's pale lips curved, a pleased smile.
I'd be smiling later.
