Chapter 56: Let it go

The snow picks up and overtakes my view. I push through a blizzard...lose my way...then finds myself ... on a mountain well above the snow-line, Finally, I stop, look around, catches my breath and sings...

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I'm the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I've tried
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know

I throw my remaining glove away.

I built a snowman like the one I built with Anna all those years ago.

I undo the clasp on my cape and it goes flying through the air, unknowing to my knowledge that it hit a certain snowman and sent him flying down the mountain. But that is a story for another time.

It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through

I used my powers to make a staircase that was covered with frost.

I placed my foot on the first step and it turned to ice, I continued running up the stairs until I got to the highest part of the mountain.

I stomped my foot on the ground and created a giant snowflake that would serve as the floor to my new home. I start building the walls.

My power flurries through the air into the ground

And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back, the past is in the past

I take off my tiara and throw it across the room. I let my hair out of it bun and put it back to a braid, the way I used to wear it. I use my powers to make a new dress with a cape.

I walked out onto the balcony to look at the sun set and then shut the door behind me.

I created a bed out of ice and got ready for bed
