🌨Elsa's Pov🌨
"Anna, Elsa!" I hear father call from outside our room

"Bed time's soon!" Mother adds

"Uh oh! The princess is trapped in the snow goblin's evil spell! Quick Elsa, make a prince, a fancy one! Oh no, the prince is trapped too! "Who cares about danger when there's love?" Anna said as I made a prince out of snow then she made them kiss

"Ugh, Anna. Bleugh! Kissing won't save the forest! The Lost Fairies cry out! What sound does a giraffe make? Never mind! They wake the Fairy Queen, who breaks the spell and saves everyone!" I said excitedly as I made a fairy queen with my powers

"And they all get married!" Anna exclaimed which caused me to laugh

"What are you playing?" I heard a voice ask. I looked up it was Jack, he had came in through the window.

"Jack!" I shouted as I ran to give him a hug

"I missed you too, Elsa."

"Enchanted forest!" Anna responded before going back to playing

"That's like no Enchanted Forest I've ever seen." I heard father say

I gasped.

"You've seen an Enchanted Forest?" I asked

"Wait, what?" Anna replied confused

"I have. Once."

"And you never told us this before?"

"Well, I could tell you now... " Father said. "If you..." and we climbed on the bed.

"Okay, tell us now!" I said excitedly

"Are you sure about this?" Mother asked

"It's time they know..." Father replied

"Let's make a big snowman later" Anna whispered in my ear.

"If they can settle and listen." Father said as we finally quieted down. "Far away, as north as we can go, stood a very old and very Enchanted Forest. But its magic wasn't that of goblin spells and lost fairies. It was protected by the most powerful spirits of all... Those of air, fire, water, and earth. But it was also a home to the mysterious Northuldra people."
"Were the Northuldra magical, like Jack and me?" I asked
"No Elsa, they were not magical, they just took advantage of the forest gifts. Their ways were so different from ours. But still, they promised us friendship. In honor of that, your grandfather, King Runeard, built them a mighty dam to strengthen their waters. It was a gift of peace."

"That's a big gift of peace." Anna said

"And I was so honored to get to go to the forest to celebrate it. I wasn't at all prepared for what the day would bring. We let down our guard. We were charmed. And it felt so... magical. But something went wrong. They were attacking us! It was a brutal battle. Your grandfather ...was lost. The fighting enraged the spirits. They turned their magic against us all. There was this... voice. And someone saved me. I'm told, the spirits then vanished. And a powerful mist covered the forest, locking everyone out.

And that night, I came home, King of Arendelle." Father said blowing out the candle.

"Whoa, Papa, that was epic. Whoever saved you, I love them." Anna said

"I wish I knew who it was." Papa replied

"What happened to the spirits? What's in the Forest now?" I asked

"I don't know. The mist still stands. No one can get in, and no one has since come out." Papa answered.

That made me disappointed.

"So we're safe." Mother added

"Yes, but the forest could wake again, and we must be prepared for whatever danger it may bring."

"And on that note, how about we say goodnight to your father?" Mother said as father got off the bed

"Oh, but I still have so many questions!" Anna exclaimed complaining

"Save them for another night, Anna." Papa told her

"Ugh, you know I don't have that kind of patience." Anna said. That made me giggle. "Why did the Northuldra attack us anyway? Who attacks people who give them gifts?" Anna asked

"Do you think the forest will wake again?" I asked mama.

"Sometimes I wish it could." Mother replied

"Why?" I asked

"Because we have so many questions we'd like to ask it, don't we? Only Ahtohallan knows."

"Ahto-who-what?" Anna asked

"When I was little, my mother would sing a song about a special river called Ahtohallan, that was said to hold all the answers about the past and what we are apart of."

"Whoa."

"Will you sing it for us? Please?" I begged

"Ok. Cuddle close, scooch in."

Where the north wind meets the sea
There's a river full of memory
Sleep, my darling, safe and sound
For in this river all is found
In her waters, deep and true
Lay the answers and a path for you
Dive down deep into her sound
But not too far or you'll be drowned
Yes, she will sing to those who'll hear
And in her song, all magic flows
But can you brave what you most fear?
Can you face what the river knows?
Where the north wind meets the sea
There's a mother full of memory
Come, my darling, homeward bound
When all is lost, then all is found

Mama kissed my hands and tucked me into bed.

"Now sleep my little snow."

I watched as mama walked across the room and started to open the door.

"Mother, do you think Ahtohallan knows why I'm the only one in Arendelle with magical powers?"

"If Ahtohallan is out there, I'm sure it knows that and much more."

I yawned.

"Someone should really try to find it." I said as I placed my head on my pillow and fell asleep dreaming of the enchanted forest and the magical river.
