Two days into Edward leaving for Denali, Theo had arrived back at the house, bringing with him plenty of new clothes for me courtesy of Tanya, who, like Alice, decided that my taste for fashion was not up to par with what she considered acceptable.

Stepping out of the car, I smiled at Theo as we both walked over to the Jeep, the two of us smiled as we met back up with Emmett and Jasper, who jumped out of the Jeep and wrestled each other.

Not even a minute later, Rose and Alice pulled into the spot between the boy's Jeep and my car. The two girls shared a quiet conversation before stepping out and starting over to meet up with us, the irritation on Rose's face was clear as day as she strutted towards us.

"Let me guess," Rose huffed, "she's staring. Anyone want to tell me I'm wrong?"

I turned around and let out a sigh, meeting Bella's gaze and raising an unimpressed eyebrow. "Sometimes, I hate that you're always right."

Rose smirked as Emmett swung his arm onto her shoulders, pressing a kiss to the side of her head. Chuckling, the six of us turned and made our way toward the school, Bella's eyes following us as we went.

Sitting down at the table, I looked down at my food and let out a little huff. Pushing it around my plate with my plastic fork.

"How do people eat this?" I remark, looking down at my food. "It reminds me of dog food."

Theo snorted as he looked over at me, swinging his arm up to rest on the back of my chair. "Esme wouldn't like that," he teased. I chuckled as I put down my fork and pushed my plate away.

"If she keeps on staring..." Rose hisses put, stabbing her fork into her salad. Emmett just tapped her shoulder with his, catching her attention and quickly pulling her into a conversation. I turned my head and looked at the girl in question, her dark brown eyes locked onto our table.

"She's sort of like a lost dog..." I muse, tilting my head as I narrow my eyes at her, smirking when I hear Rose snicker at my comment. My continuous staring caused her to squirm in her seat and eventually turn back around towards her friends. I tilted my head as I continued to watch her for a moment before turning back around in my seat, quickly joking back into the conversation.

"That wasn't very nice G," Theo murmured into my ear.

I smiled innocently up at him and batted my eyes. "What?"

Sitting down, I quickly got out a book and started to skim through it. Not bothering to put the book down as the teacher rushed in and began to teach the lesson. Bella's eyes flicked back and forth between the board and me, her brows furrowed as if she was overthinking something.

As the final bell rang, everyone immediately got up and started to chatter away with their friends. I stood up and packed away my book, grabbing my worksheet and quickly dropping it onto the teacher's desk before leaving the room. Bella rushed out after me, practically pushing other students out of her way to reach me.

"Wait! Genevieve!" she called out. Her action was so far off from her usually quiet demeanor that it caused students to snap their heads up in shock and surprise. Almost all of them started to whisper as they saw her come to a stop in front of me. Theo's eyes widened as he quickly began to push his way through the crowd to get to me, knowing how I would react.

"Yes, Isabella?" I say pleasantly, my grip on my book tightening as I look her over.

"It's just Bella... I- I- I just wanted to know where- if- if Edward was going to come back soon?" she stammered out, her cheeks flushing a faint pink when she realized how many people were watching us.

I look down at her and smirk slightly, noticing Rose in my peripheral vision smirking as well. "He's... sick."

She stammered for a second, her eyes widening slightly when she realized how close to her face I was. "Well... do you know when he's going to come back?"

"Who knows... after all, we wouldn't you coming down with what he has... I hear it's a real killer-"

"G! We should get going!" Theo calls out, sending me a warning glare.

I let out a sigh as I stepped away from Bella, the crowd immediately started to whisper amongst themselves. I bit my lip and readjusted my bag on my shoulder before spinning on my heel and starting back towards Theo, the crowd watching me carefully as I passed them.

"What were you doing?" he hisses to me, the two of us quickly making our way toward the parking lot. The rest of the family followed close behind him and listened to our hushed conversation.

"I was just having a pleasant conversation with Isabella," I explain, looking up at him and flashing a smile.

He scoffs and rolls his eyes as we all pile into our cars and start to head back toward the house. "Yeah, pleasant my ass."
