Chan stared at his phone with an uneasy expression.

What should he do now? He pondered. While his instincts told him to grab the phone and call the police, his mind told him otherwise. Especially his curiosity.

And as the seconds soon became minutes, Chan couldn't help but push the phone further and further away until it only stood a couple of feet from him. He sighed. The argument in his head was being beaten by his curiosity and Chan wished it to stay still for at least a minute. However, the loud yells from outside caught his attention and he decided to let his troublesome friend be victorious.

As a result, he stood up from his bed and made his way to the shoji(*), slowly opening it with every breath. Once he had done so, he stepped outside into the cold corridor and widened his eyes. The place was a neat traditional Japanese house. One the rich use to live in.

Walking deeper into the house, Chan stopped every now and then to admire the garden and its beauty as the flowers were covered by the drizzle. He smiled and took a deep breath to inhale the cold air. How were they able to obtain this place? If they wanted to hide it, a traditional home wasn't what he would first choose as an option. But then again, Chan had to remind himself that they weren't just mere human beings. No, they were creatures with powers that could end a life at every minute. And Chan just hoped he wasn't the life they would finish.

With every step, the talking became louder and louder until he could hear it perfectly. But soon enough, he regretted that option now more than anything. Who would've thought Jun was a hanyō?

"...what?" Jeonghan said with narrowed eyes.

"He's only a third, but that's enough to consider him one of us, right?"

"Wait wait wait wait wait," Vernon looked at them. "So you're telling me you're only third? How?!"

After giving Minghao a glare, Jun sighed and turned to look at the eyes that currently stared at him filled with curiosity. But even he knew there was a hint of worry in them.

"My grandparents were a demon and a human. As a result, my mother was a hanyō, half yokai and half human"

"And now because you're the third generation, only one third of you is a yokai" Jeonghan looked at him. "Am I right?"

At this, the younger immediately looked away. The Kitsuné had such a strong glare it was almost impossible for him to ignore it. With every look he would give him, Jun would feel a shiver run down his spine. But as he continued to look at the floor, he suddenly felt a squeeze in his hand. Jun turned to his side and smiled. There, sitting right beside him was Minghao. He wasn't alone.

Jun took a deep breath and stared at the older straight to the eye. "Yes"

At this, Jeonghan narrowed his eyes. What was he supposed to do now except to accept the guy? That look filled with determination was piercing right through him and Jeonghan couldn't help but sigh.

"I don't fully trust the two of you" He crossed his arms. "But if you're willing to keep us hidden, then I guess I can't really say anything against that, can I?"

He smiled. "Welcome to the team"

Minghao sighed in relief and Jun threw himself over him. He was happy the others had kept him alive; he was happy Minghao was kept alive.

However, right before both boys could thank the lord for being alive, the shoji was harshly opened causing the Yokai to turn and look at the human that stood behind it.

"You guys can trust me too!" Chan screamed.

"Chan? What are you doing here-"

"I will never give you away!" He looked placed a hand over his heart. "I will make sure to never say a single word about you! I swear!"

The older narrowed his eyes. "You promise?"

"I promise!"

Jeonghan smiled. "I'm happy to know that" And stood up. "But before we let ourselves celebrate, I must let you all know something"

He took a deep breath. "This is just the beginning. We don't know what Wonwoo and Mingyu want from us Yokai and why they're going in a hunting spree in this area if there hasn't been any recent apparition of us"

"As a result, I ask you all to get ready for what will happen next"

He looked at them.

"And make sure to stay alive"
