Anaya

Faiz took me out for a drive around the city.

"Are you okay?" He asked me. "After yesterday, if we weren't already married, I would have been afraid that you'd call off the wedding."

"I wouldn't call off the wedding from something as minor as that." I looked at him. "A marriage is way too important."

He met my gaze briefly and we smiled at each other.

We went for a walk near the Minar-e-Pakistan (the tower of Pakistan), which is one of the most well known monuments of Pakistan.

"You want ice cream?" He asked, looking down at me as we walked hand-in-hand. The sun was about to set and the gentle glow from it was reflecting beautifully in Faiz's gorgeous eyes.

"I'd rather have a chocolate milkshake." I paused. "But it's my treat."

"No way. I brought you out, so I pay for it." He shook his head.

I freed my hand. "Fine." I pretended to give in as I discreetly looked around. "First one to reach the tree pays for whatever..." I began to run before I even completely my sentence.

"Anaya!" Laughing, he chased after me.

He was taller and faster and he could have easily won, despite my head start. But he let me win, and I know it wasn't for the sake of not having to pay. As I turned to face him with an excited smile, he was staring at me in amusement.

"You let me win!" I said, pouting slightly. I had to give him some of a wife nakhra as well, you know. It's practically a law.

"It's worth it, seeing that gorgeous smile." He walked right up to me, making me stare up at him wide eyed. We remained locked in each other's gazes for a few moments.

"Come on!" I broke the trance. "I need that chocolate milkshake now." Draping the dupatta tighter around my head, I began to walk away from him. The truth was that I was confused about the new emotions running around my head, making me want to bury myself in his arms forever. But we were in Lahore, Pakistan; public display of affection was deeply frowned upon. I have issues with certain aspects of culture, not all of them.

A cheeky part of me wondered if I would let him kiss me in public in London. I blushed so hard that I let my hair curtain my face to stop him from seeing it. He would definitely know then how impure were my thoughts.
