On the last day of our visit, we visited the graveyard where all the Foix's had been buried. We revisited my parents and brother's graves, along with my own. All four of the headstones had been weathered down after being exposed to the elements for so long, the names barely visible. My parents had been buried on either side of me and my infant brother.

Stepping up to our plot, I felt a sense of guilt fall on me. I stared at the marker that had been placed in front of them, I quickly read it over while beginning to anxiously bite my lip.

"What does it say?" Theo muttered, trying to decipher the French, "The Foix-"

"It's all about my family- about me. It talks about my disappearance and the aftermath of it." I explain, my voice thick with emotion as I step back from the marker, reaching over and gripping Theo's hands with a vice-like grip.

My eyes slowly move over to look at the broken and weathered headstones reading the names off softly to myself, thinking back to the faint memories that came back with them.

My father, whose eyes always held a glint of mischief in them, whose laughter was infectious. My mother who was always seen smiling and whose eyes were always warm and welcoming. My baby brother, Sébastien, who I was never able to meet.

I slowly turned my gaze towards Sébastien's headstone which, like the others, was practically non-existent, having been destroyed by the weather as the centuries passed. A baby who never got the chance to live, to grow up, and experience life. To get married and to have kids, to meet his parents, to be a brother.

"Je suis vraiment désolé, Sébastien," I whisper, kissing my fingers and carefully pressing them onto the broken headstone. [I'm so sorry, Sébastien,]
