IT WAS the day of the Quidditch match, and the great hall buzzed with excitement.
Though, it was clear that Ron Weasley was not having it when he sat down beside Y/N. She knew he was nervous. Merlin, he should be- he wouldn't really get in the team if it wasn't for Hermione.
Now, don't get me wrong. He was good at Quidditch, a natural! But with the nervousness he had, he couldn't have mad it. And now, he's nervous again. There's a possibility that they might lose.
"So, how was it?" asked Ron.
Hermione looked up from the prophet she was reading, "How was what?"
"Your dinner party," Ron said with a hint of bitterness. Y/N couldn't blame him, it wasn't nice of Slughorn to invite Hermione and Harry, but not her and Ron. But she was sure that the redhead held a bigger grudge.
The bushy haired girl gave a small sigh, "Pretty boring, actually," she said, then went back to reading her prophet, "Though, I think Harry enjoyed dessert."
Y/N rose an eyebrow, "Bet he did," she teased, glancing at Harry, who just stayed awkwardly silent.
For a moment, they didn't speak. Until Hermione broke the silence, "Slughorn's having a Christmas do, you know?" she said, once again looking up, "And we're meant to bring someone."
"I expect you'll be bringing McLaggen. He's in the Slug club, isn't he?" Ron said. Y/N could be wrong, but she heard jealousy somewhere there. It was interesting.
Hermione couldn't help but frown, "Actually, I was going to ask you," she said, as if disappointed that Ron could think such thing.
But the redhead didn't believe her, "Really?" he said, but his tone said bored. All Hermione could do was roll her eyes, and get back to reading.
Harry cleared his throat, and turned to Y/N, "Do you want to go? I don't exactly have anyone to bring," he said.
Y/N thought about it for a moment. She couldn't really go. She has to help Draco, "I'd rather not. I have this feeling that Slughorn doesn't really like me. Nor did he like dad," she said. It was true, anyways.
The green eyed boy just shrugged, and went back to eating.
Suddenly, Lavender Brown came walking towards the group, a smile on her face. She tapped Ron's shoulder, and said, "Good luck today, Ron," then she followed, "I know you'll be brilliant."
With that, the girl walked away. Y/N's face scrunched up in disgust, "Not creepy, at all."
Harry chuckled, "I think creepy is an understatement," he said.
"I'm resigning," Ron suddenly blurted out, making Y/N look up with wide eyes.
"What, why?" asked Y/N.
Ron shook his head, "After today's match, McLaggen can have my spot."
Hermione looked at him in disbelief, while Harry looked unbothered, "Have it your way," he said, them pushed a cup of juice to Ron, "Juice?"
"Sure," he said, taking the cup in his hands.
Suddenly, Luna spoke up from the other side of Ron, "Hello, everyone," she smiled. She wore a lion head on her head to give support to Gryffindors, even though she was sorted in a different house. It was very sweet of her. She then, frowned, seeing Ron, "You look dreadful, Ron."
Y/N had to hold in her laugh. But failed a bit, "Sorry," she said when Ron glared at her.
"Is that why you put something in his cup?" Luna asked Harry, making everyone look at the boy who lived, "Is it tonic?"
Harry looked away, and put the vial of Liquid Luck in his pocket. But that didn't escape his friends' sight.
"Liquid luck," said Hermione in disbelief and immediately looked at the redhead in front of her, "Don't drink it, Ron!"
But Ron didn't listen even one bit. He drank the juice with a bit of hesitation, but still finished it. Y/N's mouth opened in shock as she looked at Harry, "That's messed up. As much as I love the hype, that could get you in serious trouble."
"You could be expelled for that!" exclaimed Hermione.
But just like Ron, Harry did not listen, "I don't know what you're talking about."
The redhead smiled with such confidence, and said, "Come on, Harry. We've got a game to win."

Slytherin didn't stand a chance against the Gryffindors. Ron didn't let any of the Quaffles get past him.
Y/N watched by the stands with Hermione. She noticed the girl's smile. Y/N knew she was trying to hold it back, but she couldn't.
And Y/N being herself, she teased Hermione non-stop.
With that being said, Gryffindor won. Their common room buzzed with happiness as they chanted Ron's name over and over again as loud as they could. The girl couldn't believe it- Ron was practically famous.
She stood with Mione and Harry by the side. Hermione wanted to be happy, she really did, but she couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. She knew she was at fault too, for using the Confundo spell on Cormac, but to use Liquid Luck?
"Ron seems to be enjoying himself," said Y/N, turning to the two.
Harry nodded, "Yep. Apparently, it's his lucky day."
Hermione sighed, and turned to Harry, "You shouldn't have done it, Harry," she said.
"Yeah," the green eyed boy nodded, crossing his arms, "I suppose I could've just used.. I don't know, a Confundus charm?"
The bushy haired girl's eyes widen in shock, while Y/N held in a laugh. She looked down, and decided to just slip away. It was the perfect time to sneak out, everyone was busy cheering for Ron.
Harry and Hermione didn't notice her walk away, but instead, they continued to argue, "That was different," explained Hermione, "It was tryouts, this was an actual match-" but the boy who lived didn't let her finish. He pulled the vial out of his pocket, still full, and still unopened. Hermione looked at him, "You didn't put it in?"
The boy shakes his head, "No," he said, putting the vial back in his pocket.
"Ron only thought you did," Hermione said. At this point, the bushy haired girl couldn't help but feel proud of Harry. He should really use his brain more.
Everyone suddenly screamed, and whistled. Harry and Hermione put their attention back at the center on the common room.
And then and there, they saw Lavender pull Ron into a kiss.
Harry cheered for his best friend, while Hermione's face fell. She felt her heart break into pieces. But she didn't say anything. Right now, she wanted someone to talk to.
She looked around, looking for Y/N but she was no where to be found. The air suddenly felt thick, and unbearable.
As the people cheered, Hermione slipped away, silent tears running down her face. She was hurt, and upset, and mad.
While Y/N was out there, happy with Draco, but completely oblivious that her best friend needed her now more that ever.
