A DAY after Christmas, Y/N just sat on her bed, trying to draw something, anything. But she really does fail at it miserably.

But if you look at it from a different angle, it kind of looked like the flower plant she had by her window. Kind of. Though it didn't really matter anyways.

She was just bored, waiting for Draco's letter. If he'll write, that is. She knew that he's busy with his task and all, but she sent a letter last night along with a small amount of joke sweets she got from Fred and George. They gave it to her as a gift, but she gave some to Draco.

Regifting a gift isn't that bad if no one knows.

As she tried to shade the vase of the flower, the tip of the charcoaled quill broke, making her groan in frustration. She gives up.

Suddenly, a tap on her window was heard. She immediately looked up, but her smile absentmindedly fell when she didn't see Draco's black owl. Instead, she saw Errol, the Weasleys' family owl.

Y/N stood up with furrowed eyebrows, "What are you doing here?" she couldn't help but ask even though she knew that the owl isn't going to answer her.

Opening the window, she saw a letter attached to its feet. With a bit of hesitation, she untied the letter, and gave the owl some treats that sat by her window.

Sitting back down on her bed, she slowly opened the letter.

It surprised her to see that it was Hermione who wrote to her. She wasn't expecting anything from her, seeing as the bushy haired girl was practically mad at her.

Y/N sat back on her pillows, and read Hermione's letter.

"Y/N,

I know I've been acting like an arse, lately, and I really am sorry about it. You didn't know about my.. 'feelings' for Ron, and it was very wrong of me to snap at you like that when you didn't do anything.

Though, I would've appreciated if you were there. But I know you have your own life, and that you have things to do other than be my friend.

I'm really sorry, Y/N. Whatever you've been up to, I won't ask of anymore. It's just very wrong to invade someone's privacy like that. I hope we can be friends again, Black.

Sincerely apologizing,

H. Granger."

The girl stared at the letter for a while, not knowing how to react. It was very hard to get stuck in between people she cares for very much. But at the end of the day, she knew she had to choose one.

With one last sigh, she stood up, and folded Hermione's letter. She stuffed it inside the drawer she never opens, and turned around, just forgetting about it.

She didn't want her friends to get into this mess even if she knew they're already in it. Besides, Y/N didn't want to risk them knowing about Draco. She's protecting both sides, right?

"Well, if it isn't my favorite niece."

Her train of thoughts were stopped to a halt when Remus Lupin spoke up from her opened doorway. She forced a smile, "I'm your only niece, uncle Remus," she said, standing up to welcome the man with her usual hug.

Remus gave a slight chuckle, and pulled away from the hug. His smile slightly faded, "I'm here to tell you something," he said, "Your father is waiting in the living room."

Y/N didn't know what it was, but she already felt scared to know what it was. Did she want to know? Yes, but at the same time, she didn't.

Trying to hide her fear, the girl smiled, "The living room, then?"
