IT WAS a bit dark in the forest, but the moonlight was enough for both Y/N and Ron to see their way through it.
Thank Helga that Hermione thought about marking as they go- how did I know it was Hermione, you asked? Because, Harry could never.
"Pretty dark out here," says Ron, just to cut the silence.
Y/N glanced at him, "Yeah. If it was the full moon, we might've ran into uncle Remus," she joked, but then sighed, "I miss them."
Ron gave a small shrug, "We'll be home soon."
The girl knew that the redhead only said that to make her feel better. But she knew well that they won't be home until this is all over.
Both of them once again went silent, the only thing they could hear were the crickets and owls. They walked, and walked, not knowing how far they've went. It was unclear, since they were just following Hermione's marks.
They've probably walked hundreds of miles, seeing as it's been days of foot travel since they apparated from where they left both Hermione and Harry.
Walking by a lake, Y/N stopped. She squinted her eyes, and saw something- it was a patronus.
"Is that.." she trailed off, catching Ron's attention.
"Harry," he mumbled.
The girl looked down, and studied the iced up lake- there was a hole in the middle. And besides that, there were.. bubbles.
Then suddenly, there were banging coming from below- as if someone was trapped.
"Ron, look!" she exclaimed, gesturing towards the hole in the middle of the lake.
The redhead squinted his own eyes, and walked forward slowly, careful to not break the ice. He then, jumped into the lake, making the girl's mouth open in shock.
She looked at the frozen water, worried about her friend jumping in the cold lake. She waited, her eyes filled with such fear.
But soon enough, Ron came up to the surface with both Harry Potter himself, and a sword- Godric Gryffindor's sword.
Y/N sighed in relief, seeing both friends unharmed besides being cold. As Harry stumbled to get his glasses, Ron casted the Hot Air Charm to dry his clothes.
"Hermione?" asked Harry as he put on his glasses.
"Are you mental?" chuckled Ron.
Harry shook as he walked towards Ron, "It was you," he said, panting.
Ron nodded, "Well yeah," he said, "A bit obvious I think."
The green eyed boy then, shifted his eyes to the girl standing by the rock, "Y/N!" he exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with such relief.
"Great to see you're still alive," the girl joked, making Harry shake his head- though he has to admit, he missed both Ron, and Y/N. It wasn't the same without the mischievous Gryffindor's ridiculous jokes.
The boy who lived, then, remembered, "You casted the doe, did you?" he asked, pulling his pants up.
Ron and Y/N shared a look, "No, we thought that was you," said the redhead.
"No, my patronus is a stag," Harry told them as he buttoned up his jeans.
"Right, yeah," Ron nodded and put his hands on top of his head. He raised some fingers, and said, "Antlers."
Harry nodded, and put on his shirt, "You got the sword?" he asked.
Y/N pointed at Ron, "He has it."
