FOR THE past week, Y/N had been spending time with Sirius. Either they just play wizards chess (Where Y/N sucked at horribly.) or just sit down and talk about the past years.
Sometimes, Remus also joins in the mischief, even though he says that both Y/N and Sirius are being childish, the Blacks knew that the man also enjoys himself. Especially with Sirius around.
Besides that, Y/N received letters from Hermione, Harry, Ron. Mostly, it was the twins, telling her how she should really visit their shop soon. Though, she is waiting for someone's letter. But she wasn't sure if she'll ever receive one from him. He said he'll write, but why should he?
As Y/N was writing to Hermione, Sirius knocked on the opened door, "Hey, pup, dinner's ready," he said.
The girl turned around, "I'll come down in a bit. I'll just finish this letter for Mione," she said.
Sirius smiled, and nodded, "Alright, I'll expect you in five minutes," he said, and with that, left.
Y/N hurriedly finished Hermione's letter, and folded it, putting it inside an envelope, and just putting it on her desk for the meanwhile.
Running down the stairs, the scent of the food immediately hit Y/N's nose, making her tummy grumble with such anger. She didn't even realize how hungry she was until the smell of food her sense of smell.
"I smell food," she smiled as she saw Sirius sit at the end of the table, Kreacher putting the food on the table with a frown.
Sirius nodded, and gestured to the seat next to his', "Let's eat before the food gets cold, shall we?"
Y/N smiled, and sat down, immediately putting food on her plate, "I don't think I'll ever get tired of eating," she chuckled, eating some mashed potatoes, "Dish Ish Gud!" she exclaimed, her mouth full.
Her father let out a laugh, "Manners, Y/N. Even though I was a rebel, atleast I had table manners."
Swallowing her food, Y/N let out a gasp, "I'm Sirius Black's daughter, I think I can do whatever I want," she pouted, and ate more food.
"You're my daughter, exactly. But that doesn't mean you can do everything you want," Sirius said, his tone saying that he's.. serious, or in dad mode, "I want to guide you through your teenage years, because I wasn't there for your childhood."
"I know that," Y/N said, nodding, "And I also know that you'll guide me through this time perfectly. You're Sirius Black, for the love of Godric! Padfoot!"
Sirius shook his head in disbelief, but a smile on his face, as if he was enjoying Y/N's pride of being his daughter, and really, he was. He's proud to call Y/N his daughter, "Alright, alright. Enough of that," he chuckled, "Now, tell me, anyone caught your eye yet?"
Y/N looked up to her father in surprise. This was not what she expected how their dinner would go, "What?"
"Are you dating anyone?" Sirius asked, straight to the point.
The girl slowly shook her head, "Not that I know of..?" she said, but for some reason, it came out as more of a question.
And that made Sirius smirk, "I see. Keep your secrets- but I hope they know that they got quite the catch, and if ever they-"
"Dad, I'm not dating anyone," Y/N let out an airy laugh, cutting her father off, "I'm not-"
"Shh, let me finish, pup," Sirius shook his hand.
Y/N playfully rolled her eyes, "Woof," she held her hand in front of her, as if acting like a dog. Ironic, cause her father is a dog, and her father calls her pup.
Sirius gave her a warning glare, "All kidding aside, Y/N. I don't want you to land in the wrong hands, so you have to really get to know the people you trust."
The girl knew exactly who her father was talking about; Peter Pettigrew, that snitch.
She smiled at her father, giving him a small nod, "I know," she said, "And I also know that I'm not dating anyone, so as much as I appreciate your speech, dear dad, I'm afraid it was a bit useless. Though will be very useful in the future."
He chuckled, and nodded, "Alright, enough of that," he said, and with that, the two got into another conversation with different topics.
It wasn't long until they finished dinner. As Kreacher was getting the plates, Y/N heard a tapping noise on their living room window. With furrowed eyebrows, she stood up, walking towards the living room, "I think there's an owl," she said.
Opening the window, she saw a black owl, a fancy looking envelope by its leg. The girl took the letter, and before she could even go to get the owl some treats, it flew away. Y/N shrugged to herself, and walked back into the dining room, her eyes stuck on the letter.
"Who's it from?" asked Sirius, standing up from his chair.
Y/N didn't answer, instead, she turned the envelope over, "It's addressed to me," she said, and without thinking of what it might be, she opened it, Sirius in front of her, waiting in anticipation. Her eyes immediately went to the signature.
And just like that, her eyes went wide as saucepans. Her wide eyes went to her father, who looked at her with a raised eyebrow, "Who's it from?" he asked again.
"Uh," Y/N said, and simply walked backwards, "Just a friend!" she exclaimed, and like that, ran towards the stairs, and in her room, shutting the door behind her.
Sirius was left confused. He shook his head, and walked towards his own room, "Girls," he said in disbelief.
Back in her room, Y/N sat down on her desk, the letter in her hand. When she was sure that no one else was with her- not that anyone will be since it was just her and Sirius in the house, but just making sure. Wizards and witches can apparate, and turn themselves invisible if they wanted to in someway, like Harry's invisibility cloak.
Slowly, she opened the letter once again, a smile absentmindedly creeping up her face as she read the letter.
"Y/N Black,
I honestly have no idea what to say, I don't know what I should say in a letter, because I only really write to my mother, and sometimes Blaise, so I apologize if this is rubbish. (But trust me, I tried.)
So, how's it going? I know it's only been a week since we left Hogwarts, but it already felt like forever, especially in this house.
Remember when you told me you'll teach me how to loosen up?
Got any ideas how I can do that?
Your.. acquaintance(?),
D. Malfoy."Y/N chuckled at Draco's letter. He didn't want to call her a friend, and she thought it was cute. It was adorable that the blonde didn't have the right words to say.
In short, he was basically blabbering. Like a baby.
With a smile, Y/N grabbed a peace of parchment, and started writing a letter to Draco.
She even forgot that she still needed to send Hermione her letter, but she'll remember it sooner or later.
