•IV - Cowardly Move•

ANOTHER DUMBLEDORE'S army meeting passed, and Y/N as on her way to the Astronomy Tower, just because.

And well, she was hoping to talk to a certain ferret. She found him quite interesting.

The girl climbed the last step of the stairs, and surprisingly found the blonde already there, leaning on the railings. A mischievous smile crept up her face, "here to give me detention, or something?" she joked.

At the voice, Draco immediately turned around, a chuckle escaping his lips.

Y/N didn't know why, but that chuckle made her heart flutter.

The girl walked towards the railings, stopping beside the blonde. There was a few moments of silence, it wasn't awkward, it was honestly kind of nice, being in each others' presence.

Draco doesn't know why, but it feels good to be with someone that's not Crabbe or Goyle. Someone new, someone like her.

"do you come here often?", the blonde asked after awhile

Looking at him, Y/N smiled, "just started this year. I find the stars very beautiful.", she said, "you?"

"well, i go here in my spare time. Besides, my name is Draco, so i take my time to appreciate my constellation.", the blonde laughed lightly, making the girl nod

"but how come i only met you yesterday?", Y/N chuckled

Draco shrugged, "probably because you always have something to do. With all your pranks and such. And it's been a busy year for me, i became a prefect, yada yada yada."

Y/N nodded, but then frowned, "why do you even follow Umbridge? She's the worst.", she rose an eyebrow

The blonde looked at the girl, and she looked back at him, a proud look on her face, "i follow her because she just wants what's best for Hogwarts."

At that, the girl couldn't help but scoff, "yeah, right. Cerfews, dress codes, screwed up detentions, and you do realize that you're breaking a rule right now just for standing this close to me."

Y/N pretended not to notice, but she saw how Draco scooted away from her a bit.

"i guess i follow her becaus i don't want to get in trouble.", the blonde sighed

The girl huffed, "cowardly move."

Draco looked at her in disbelief, "excuse me-"

"you know, about fourteen years ago, my father got sent to Azkaban just because he was accused for something he didn't do.", Y/N cut him off, "he was accused that he murdered Harry's parents, when in fact, it was my dad's, Harry's parents', and even uncle Remus' friend who did it. He betrayed them, and sold them out to the Dark Lord, so he wouldn't get in trouble, or in short, die."

The blonde sighed, "this is a different situation, Black."

Y/N looked at him in disbelief, "is it, though?" she said, "is it really? Because i think what Peter Pettigrew did was a cowardly move. And what you're doing right now? Fighting against the good just for you to not get in trouble is a very cowardly move."

Draco frowned, "you know that i can take house points off of you, right?", he said

But the girl just rolled her eyes, "oh, i'm so scared.", she sarcastically said, and looked into the blonde's eyes.

For a moment, time stopped for the both of them. They stared at each other's eyes, getting lost in them. Y/N wouldn't admit it, but she did find the blonde's eyes very beautiful.

"you have beautiful eyes.", Draco said after awhile, making the girl lightly laugh.

Y/N looked away, "dad said i got it from my mother."

At that, the blonde nodded, and looked at the sky, where the girl was looking, "mind telling me about her?"

At that, the girl frowned, "i wish i could, but i don't know much about her either.", she said, then sighed, "she passed away from giving birth to me."

Draco looked at Y/N, a sad look on his face, "i'm sorry about that."

The girl chuckled softly, "it's fine. Uncle Remus did tell me stories about her and dad, though.", she said, and looked at the blonde. She saw Draco was actually interested, so she continued, "he told me that my mum was a muggle, which is obvious. But she wasn't a witch. They met at Muggle London, because dad was being his rebel self, and ran away from home."

Chuckling, Draco said, "did she know he was a wizard?"

"no, she found out only the day before their wedding.", Y/N laughed.

The blonde nodded, and couldn't help but ask, "what was her name?"

At that, the girl smiled, "Felicia. She loved my dad very much, and my dad loved her just as much. Can you believe that? Sirius Black actually fell in love with someone? He used to be a player!", Y/N laughed

Draco smiled lightly as he watched the girl laugh, "anyone can fall in love, you know? Even the ones with the hardest hearts, the ones who shags different girls every night, the ones who just really doesn't want to fall in love.", he shrugged, making the girl nod

"i know. I'm just happy that mum and dad found each other, even if they literally live in different worlds.", she chuckled, "you know, someday, i really want to meet someone. Someone like mom who loved my dad even if he was too much to bare sometimes."

The blonde smiled, "you'll find someone, i'm sure you will."

"thank you.", Y/N said, and couldn't help but smile, "i know you'll find someone too. Someone to balance your nerdy arse.", she laughed

At that, Draco just rolled his eyes. And soon, there was another moment of silence. Not an awkward one, but a comfortable one, really.

The blonde glanced at Y/N, and saw her looking up, smiling at a constellation; Sirius.

"you love your dad so much, it makes me want to gag.", Draco teased, making the girl playfully roll her eyes

"please, just because you have such daddy issues."

At that, the blonde gasped, in a joking way, of course, "i'm hurt.", he said, and with that, both teenagers laughed. A few more minutes passed, Draco couldn't help but ask, "do you ever miss your mum?"

Y/N looked at him, and smiled sadly, "yes, i do. It's sad to think that i don't have any memories with her. But i'm not that sad. You know why?"

Draco tilted his head, "why?"

With a soft smile, Y/N answered,

"because Sirius Black is more than enough to give me loads of memories of her."
