•XXIX - Falling For Her•

IT WAS silent for both Y/N and Draco when they got back in the castle. They sat inside the room of requirement, clearly deep in thought.

"So.. are you going to tell me what happened?" Y/N finally asked after a couple of moments.

Draco let out a tired sigh, and stood up. He paced back and forth, "I hexed a necklace, and gave it to Katie Bell," he said.

At that, Y/N looked up at him, "You did what?! Draco, Katie haven't got anything to do with this."

"I didn't give it to her. I just asked her to bring it to Dumbledore. It was easier that way," the blonde ran a hand through his hair, "And if you're forgetting, you too, don't have anything to do with this. It's dangerous- I don't want you to get hurt because of me."

For a moment, Y/N just stared at Draco in awe. The blonde noticed, but didn't say anything. It was rather.. nice?

Y/N stood up, walking towards the blonde with a slight smile, "Tell you what, let's ditch fixing the cabinet tonight for some mischief?" she said, pulling out the sweets the twins gave her. Of course she wasn't gonna eat them herself, "Filch does rounds in the library every night, it'll be perfect to leaves these sweets on a table."

This time, it was Draco who seemed to have looked at her in awe. She really knew what to do at most times.

He didn't stop the smile that formed on his face. The blonde offered his hand, which Y/N took without hesitation. She squeezed his hand for reassurance, her smile not leaving her face.

"Let's create some mischief," Draco mumbled, just enough for the two of them to hear.

And with that, they silently made their way towards the library.

The Library was empty and dark, as expected, seeing as it was a bit late at night. Y/N and Draco snuck inside, hand in hand, which they didn't even notice.

Once they closed the door behind them, Y/N let out a sigh of relief, "Okay, in exactly ten minutes, Filch will go through these doors," she gestured towards the huge doors of the library, "And check for students snogging. So I'd hurry if I were you," she grinned.

Draco felt himself blush at the mention of snogging, because a picture of him pinning Y/N on a bookshelf while they snogged popped up in his mind- no, calm down.

He shook his head to shrug off the thought, and nodded, "We should hurry, then," he said, slowly letting go of Y/N's hand.

The girl smiled, clearly oblivious of the teenage boy's thoughts. She walked towards one of the tables, and put the sweets on it. They were in a blank box, "You think Filch would take the bait?" she turned to Draco.

"I don't know, probably. He's as dumb as Crabbe and Goyle," the blonde laughed as he shook his head, "What are those anyways?"

Y/N observed the sweets, tilting her head, "I'm not sure. I don't trust the twins enough to eat them myself. So I guess it'll be a surprise, and we'll find out tonight," she said, and looked up at Draco, giving him a small wink.

Once again, he felt his cheeks heat up, but as he was about to say something, they heard something from outside the library, making the girl move fast, and pull the blonde behind a bookshelf.

The doors open, showing Filch, and the same old frown he wore for years. Y/N motioned for Draco to keep quiet as the caretaker of Hogwarts slowly walked in the library with a lamp.

Filch, as always, was suspicious. He squinted his eyes, looking around the library. He started walking, and both Y/N and Draco just watched, preparing themselves in case they needed to run.

Noticing the box on one of the tables, Filch walked towards it, observing the box before finally touching it, and opening it up. He picked one up, smelling it. It was like something inside of it made him raise an eyebrow in interest.

Without hesitation, he bit it, his eyes closing in satisfaction. Y/N and Draco shared a look, "Are you sure they aren't normal sweets?" the blonde asked above a whisper.

"I'm sure. The twins don't have anything.. normal," Y/N shook her head, her eyes back on Filch, waiting for anything to happen.

Suddenly, Filch stopped chewing. A grin grew on the girl's face.

Filch put a finger near his nostrils. A gasp was heard from him, then an angry growl, "I know you're here! Come out!" he yelled in anger, and picked up his lamp.

He sped walked towards the shelves, making Y/N's eyes widen. She pulled Draco through the bookshelves, avoiding Filch along the way. They somehow managed to make it out of the library, the last thing they heard from Filch was an angry yell for them to show theirselves.

But of course, they weren't stupid. Why would they turn themselves in?

Y/N couldn't help but laugh. She pulled Draco with her as she ran, and ran, away from the library. 

They didn't hear Filch after that. Maybe because his nose is bleeding so badly, that he had to stop, and take care of it?

But the teenagers didn't care.

Y/N's laughs echoed through the empty corridors of Hogwarts as she runs hand in hand with Draco. He couldn't help but smile, he's done something he hasn't done before. His eyes sparkled as he looked at her face, it was full of happiness.

Draco didn't know what he felt, but it was like his stomach turned around. And he knew it wasn't because of the adrenaline of pranking Filch, he knew, it was because of her. 

He knew, he was falling for her, Y/N Black. Falling for her was a risk, and even if it was the other way around, it still was.

But what's life without a little risk?

Y/N finally stopped from running, the smile on her face bright as a Lumos Maxima spell, "Now how was that?!" she exclaimed happily.

Draco didn't think. He didn't have to.

Without another thought, he grabbed the girl by the waist, and crashed his lips onto hers.

The mischievous Gryffindor's eyes widen. She froze, making Draco pull away with eyes just as wide as hers.

"I'm sorry-"

But before he could continue, Y/N pulled him down by his tie, and locked lips with him once again. She wrapped her arms around his neck as they both got lost in their own world.

Risky, that's what it is. But they both were willing to take the risks. They didn't care.

The only thing that matters right now is the two of them, and nothing else.
