RUNNING HAND in hand, Y/N and Draco fought side by side, protecting each other as they made their way out of the castle to help the others.

Draco didn't have a wand, but he didn't quite need it, as Y/N did most of the fighting anyways. What a man, am I right?

"Watch out!" Exclaimed Y/N, pulling Draco away from getting hit by a spell.

Draco turned his head, and just dragged Y/N out of there, "Thanks," he said.

"Always, my damsel in distress," the girl joked with a shake of her head.

Finally, they made it outside. They fought plenty of spiders- and I mean plenty of them! The girl saw Harry, Hermione, and Ron walk out of the castle doors, running through the courtyard, and towards the gates.

But the three were stopped, seeing the pack of Dementors. Y/N pulled Draco towards them, but before she could even say anything, someone in front of her raised their wand and pointed it at the dementors, scaring them away with a Patronus. Y/N turned her head towards the man, and smiled as Harry, Ron and Hermione ran towards the boat house.

"I didn't think you'd fight, Mr. Dumbledore," the girl smiled, and Aberforth smiled back.

Draco froze, "What did you say?" He asked.

Y/N chuckled, "Aberforth, Draco, Draco, Aberforth. There you go," she said, then threw a spell at a Death Eater behind them, "We have to go look for my father," the girl continued.

"Go on ahead, Ms. Black," Aberforth nodded, "And take this fine young man with you, he looks like a keeper."

"Oh, I was actually a Seeker-" but before Draco could continue, Y/N already pulled him away, battling anything and anyone that came to block their way.

Fighting their way to the other side of the courtyard, the girl threw spells at the Death Eaters coming their way. She was surprised none on their side tried to attack them, as she was with Draco.

But maybe that's why. Because she was with him, and everyone trusted her judgment.

The Death Eater she fought was suddenly thrown sideways, making her furrow her eyebrows with confusion. She turned her head, only to see her father smiling at her, "I told you that I'll see you later," he grinned.

Y/N smiled, then remembering she was with Draco. She glanced at the boy, "Mr. Black," Draco said respectfully, slightly bowing his head.

"Oh, what did I say about my name?" The man shook his head, then threw a spell behind the two teenagers, and when they turned around, they only saw a Death Eater fall to the ground unconscious.

Draco faced the man, "Right, uh, Sirius, it's good to see you again, sir," he told the man.

Y/N gave them a look of confusion as she threw spells at more Death Eaters, "You two met?!"

"When you were away, yes," Sirius chuckled, shaking his head, "But that's a story for later, alright? Alright."

The two Blacks fought back to back, Draco helping as much as he could, which was throw rubbles at people- what? He didn't have a wand!

All of the sudden, it became quiet once again. The fighting stopped. And then came a ringing sound in their ears. Y/N winced, as she heard once again, Voldemort's voice, "You've fought valiantly, but in vain.. I do not wish this. Every drop of magical blood spilled in a terrible waste," he said, "I, therefor command my forces to retreat. In their absence, dispose your dead with dignity."

Y/N held onto Draco's hand tightly, the blonde squeezing it tighter for reassurance. She looked at him, her eyes worried.

Voldemort continued to whisper, "Harry Potter, I now directly speak to you.. On this night, you have allowed your friends to die for you rather than face me yourself. There is no greater dishonor," he told him, "Join me in the Forbidden Forest, and confront your fate.. If you do not do this, I shall kill every last man, woman, and child who tries to conceal you from me."

And it became silent. No sound whatsoever, only the enemies' footsteps as they retreated out of the castle, leaving the rubble they've broken off the castle.

Draco glanced at Y/N, and before the girl opened her mouth, he already reassured her, "I promised I'll stay."

The girl sighed deeply, and glanced at her father, "What now?"

Sirius took a deep breath and ushered the teenagers into the castle, "Let's go inside, and.."

"And what, dad?" Y/N asked, her voice breaking.

If before this all happened, Sirius was happy, he wasn't now, as if he's lost someone.

"Let's just go inside," he told them, his voice small.

Y/N footsteps was heavy as they made their way into the Great Hall. When they entered the doors, all Y/N could do was choke a sob.

Lifeless bodies scattered around the Great Hall, some unfamiliar, and some unfortunately familiar.

She felt her knees weaken at the sight of the Weasleys crying, hovering over a body. Y/N immediately ran towards them, only to break down to see Fred Weasley on the ground, lifeless.

"No, no, no!" She exclaimed, kneeling beside George, her tears falling down her face, "Fred, wake up, please! This isn't a good prank!" She cried, trying to shake the boy awake.

But when Fred made no sign of life, she backed away, George pulling her in a hug, "He's gone, Y/N. He's gone.." cried George.

Y/N seemed paralyzed, seeing from a distance, Sirius knelt down by a body. A lanky tall man in a brown blazer- the same old blazer she knows all too well.

George noticing the girl's rigid figure, pulled away from their hug. The whole Weasley family looked at the girl sadly as she stood up and made her way towards her father.

Tears fell like a waterfall down her cheeks as her knees once again gave up beside Sirius.

"Uncle Remus.." she mumbled, staring at his hands which were holding Tonks'. Even after death, they stayed together. Until their final breath, they held onto each other.

"Him, James, and Lily have probably reunited," Sirius sniffled, "I know they would've by now."

Y/N wrapped her arms around her father, in a way to tell him that he wasn't alone. That even if all his friends were no longer here, she was still there.

She cried, and cried with her father, not even noticing the trio come back from their trip to the boat house.

The girl noticed Draco slip out of the Great Hall. She wanted to go out, too, not wanting to be in this room any more longer, "I need some air," she told her father, her voice didn't sound good. It was like she had a cold.

Sirius couldn't say anything, so he only nodded.

Y/N slipped out of the Great Hall, seeing Draco sitting by the stairs. He stood up, seeing her.

"I'm sorry," was all Draco managed to say, guilt rising up to his chest, "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry," he cried, tears escaping his eyes.

If only he wasn't one of them. If only they had normal lives.

The girl only walked forward and wrapped her arms around him, "It's not your fault, you know that," she reassured.

Draco didn't say anything, but only wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug. He let out a sigh, "What now?" He asked after a while.

Y/N swallowed the lump in her throat, "We can't let our sacrifices go to waste. We just can't," she shook her head, looking up at the blonde, "We have to win this. For Fred. For Remus, Tonks- everyone."

The blonde only nodded, knowing well there was a small chance for them to succeed.

He didn't want to break Y/N any more further. She's had enough pain, he didn't want to add to that.

So he kid himself and Y/N, thinking they had a chance.

But really, it's mostly just false hope.
