Jiang Cheng was watching the spectacle taking place before him teary eyed, not that he would ever admit that, not even to himself. He was happy his brother finally accepted his husband and was now curling up in his arms on the bed, still crying pitifully and calling his soulmate's name. Lan Wangji also had tears in his eyes and he looked like he did not want to let of Wei Wuxian ever again. The Second Jade was reassuringly rubbing the Yunmeng Jiang sect head disciple's back and softly humming into his ear.

Jiang Cheng was moved by their behaviour; he could hardly begin to imagine how much the both of them missed each other. It was apparent that Wei Wuxian did not want to leave his husband but thought he had no other choice. It was both pitiful and unnerving for him.

Wen Ning patted his arm and gestured for them to leave the room. The Yunmeng Jiang sect leader shot one last look at the couple sitting on the bed and then followed him, he was pretty sure that his brother did not need his protection now when he had his husband by his side again. The Dafan Wen disciple led him to the room next door and helped him to sit down on the bed, joining him shortly with a cup of water.

Jiang Cheng gratefully took it and drowned it in one go. He was still trying to figure out why he was feeling so emotional.

Wen Ning observed him for a while and then he started tentatively: "I am so glad Young Master Wei and Young Master Lan are finally reunited. I am feeling so sorry for the both of them. Having their first baby should be a happy occasion, but for them... It had been hard. I only hope that Young Master Lan will be able to sooth Young Master Wei's fears and they will finally enjoy the thought of becoming parents. I cannot imagine what pushed Young Master Wei to act as he did, it is clear he did not really want to hide from the whole world..."

Jiang Cheng's tension finally got to him and he retorted, now that his worries for his brother were all but gone, he was back to his angry self: "That idiot! If he really wanted to stay, he should have done so from the start! Why run away and cause such an uproar? And just before sister's childbirth, what if he had missed that? He would have been so disappointed..." Now that everything was back to normal, he would not admit to have been worried at all.

Wen Ning already knew him however and judging by his expression, he understood well that the Yunmeng Jiang sect leader was still worried for his brother a great deal. Her smiled to himself and reprimanded his husband gently: "Jiang Cheng, am I not always telling you that you should be more truthful to your feelings? Less people would misunderstand you that way and it will also be healthier for you, I am worried you will get a stroke one of these days with all you anger."

When he saw that the Yunmeng Jiang sect leader had calmed down and was now looking almost remorseful, he continued in a softer tone: "There are still a few days before Miss Jiang's delivery, we have found Young Master Wei just in time. He will probably regain some of his forces until then and will be able to celebrate with all of us. If he stayed alone for a little while longer, it could have very probably been much worse. I am glad we have found him."

Jiang Cheng's eyes became wet once again as he muttered under his breath: "So am I..." A little louder, but still barely audible, he added: "Thank you for finding my idiotic and reckless brother, Wen Ning." He was not used to thanking anyone, his face was burning bright red, he was sure of it. He lowered his eyes and pretended to intently observe the floor in order to avoid crossing gazes with his husband.

The Dafan Wen disciple remained silent, the older boy did not know whether he actually did not hear him or if he was pretending. He was however grateful to him for not mentioning anything. When Wen Ning reached out and squeezed the Yunmeng Jiang sect leader's shoulder, it was clear that he heard him but chose not to respond. Jiang Cheng's heart warmed, it was exactly small things like these that made him fall in love with the younger boy.

Then he regained his usual confidence of a sect leader and straightened his shoulders, running his hand above his eyes to get rid of any lingering wetness, he spoke in a more assured tone: "Wen Ning, you would tell me if you were pregnant, right? You would not hide it from me... You must know I would be overjoyed if we had a child, or even better, more children so they would never be alone. A battalion of them to run around Lotus Pier and cause mischief..."

There was a pause in his words as he realized he did not yet breach this topic with his husband and he did not know if the Dafan Wen disciple actually wanted to have any children. It never occurred to him before this incident that perhaps not everyone wanted children. Cautious and hopeful, he looked straight at the younger boy and asked what he should have asked ages ago: "Wen Ning, do you... Do you want to have children with me?"

Wen Ning threw himself at the older boy and kissed him passionately: "Of course I would love to have children with you! I am not pregnant yet, I just had my heat, but I will surely let you know as soon as I have as much as a suspicion."

The Dafan Wen disciple's face hardened and worry was evident in his eyes when he asked, sad and alarmed at the same time: "I wonder what made Young Master Wei so afraid that he tried to hide his pregnancy from the whole world and especially his husband. He clearly knew he was with a child so he must have had at least basic knowledge about pregnancy...

Of course he could have read some books on the subject but from his words and behaviour, I think it is much more probable he was already pregnant in the past. And I fear it did not end too well... With how much he is still afraid of revealing himself as an Omega, he was probably not able to keep his child... That would also explain why he is being so overprotective now."

Wen Ning looked pensive now. Then he slowly turned to face his husband and asked, his voice forcibly devoid of any emotions, just like when he was revealing something painful to his patients: "Jiang Cheng, was Young Master Wei pregnant before?"

Jiang Cheng thought hard back to Wei Wuxian's time in Lotus Pier but could not recall anything that would help them. Yu Ziyuan was always keeping his brother's leash short and the idiot never mentioned anything to his siblings. The Yunmeng Jiang sect leader only laughed bitterly, realizing that he knew next to nothing about his brother's life, at least not about the painful aspects of it: "How would I know. He is so good at hiding his pain, he always was. We need to ask him if we want to know."
