Jeno whipped around, eyes slashing into another pairs. He stumbled backwards slightly, hitting his back on the fence out of absolute shock.

Yuri crossed her arms over, leaning against one foot. She had a lollipop in her mouth and the same nonchalant expression she had on everyday.

"Does this count as a confession?" She took the lollipop out of her mouth and looked him dead in the eye.

"No" He clutched the fence "How much of it did you hear?"

"How much did you want me to hear?" She played twirled the plastic around her finger. He kept silent.

"follow the rules and break her. Gosh, I didn't take you for a rule follower" She took a step towards him, popping the lollipop back into her mouth

"Just pretend you heard nothing" Jeno tried to pull himself away from the fence to run, but she gripped his arm and pushed him right back

"Ears aren't here to play pretend" She pulled a smile, folding her eyes to into a crescent. Jeno stared at her in admiral, and her ability to become the person she wanted to be. She absolutely amazed him, and in this chess game, she had already checkmated him

"We would only destroy each other, I would only destroy you" He had always been the one in denial

She scoffed "You act all mighty and powerful, and that you have the ability to click your fingers and the whole world disappears. News flash, Thanos isnt a Disney Prince. All you can do it continue to mess up your own mind. I'm not someone you can easily ruin, you won't even get close to a little crack"

"Aren't you scared of the consequences? Arent you scared of how what's going to happen after all the laughs and joy? It's going to be over for us anyways, why try" He couldn't hear his eyes away from her, glued to the nuclear explosion that was in front of him.

"Sounds like you're the one who's scared" She lifted up a corner of her mouth

"Who wouldn't be- Look, just pretend all of this didn't happen"

Yuri shrugged "Your loss"

Yuri sat alone against the tree, staring aimlessly off at the flowing river and the birds that chirped disturbingly in sync. A lollipop in mouth and a lazy glance was all she had on her. Until someone else came to join her presence.

"How are you?" Mark asked, taking a seat next to her. Although he was the one who asked 'How are you', he similarly looked just as uneasy

"Confused" She stated, letting the lollipop rest on one side of her cheek "Hey, do you ever know the feeling where something unexpected happens and you think you have control over everything but you really don't but at the same time it feels like it's destiny's plan yet also feels like when destiny gives up?"

"I suppose so, yes" Mark chuckled awkwardly. Yuri sighed and hit her head back on the trunk of the tree in frustration. It had suddenly all turned into a mess since yesterday

"Why do you always have the same type of lollipop on you?" Mark asked, trying to bring up light conversation but somehow he managed to ask the most heavy topic there could be

"Ah..." She looked down "Just because"

"You don't always look like you enjoy the flavour"

She remembered back to the time when Jeno had basically asked her the same thing: why she would continue to eat something she despised.

"I dont, it's horrendous" Yuri glanced at Mark "But sometimes you just have to eat something you don't like. It's like medicine you don't need"

"Buy a different flavour, perhaps that would help" The naive boy just didn't quite get what  she had hidden behind her strong font
